Who needs a #1 defenseman, I guess
With 24 teams, Doughty is probably a #1. Even if you think he's ranked like 28th, the gap isn't significant from the low end #1s.

I think the other thing is if you ever want to make a position a "Strength", you're necessarily going to have some deficiencies in your lineup. I liked what he constructed, although I was personally more partial to @ImporterExporter build because I liked the idea of having all of those great D.Doughty and Niedermayer are probably both low-end #1s at even strength or at least close to it. Both are kind of even strength specialists. But when you have Gretzky, not having a top PP QB is kind of easier to stomach.
Well deserved win, @Dreakmur. Your team wasn't perfect (you really could have used another C with good defense), but you were still my (slight) favorite to win this draft. I was hoping to be the one to lose to you in the finals, but @BraveCanadian was a deserving runner up for sure.
Hope you stick around the ATD, BC. Your presence definitely makes this thing better.

Still - there were some non-traditional builds that made deep runs this year, which I think is nothing but a good thing.

Yeah, with so many good GMs, it's pretty much impossible to be strong in every position. You can either have some strengths and weaknesses or you can have no real weaknesses and no real strengths.
I liked IE's team too. Unique build, and got some great value in Malone and Bucyk.

Lol.
Curry was drafted before you picked Kasper and Sutter.
