I spent way too long researching the new question and came back with bad news. Then I read the post.

Trouba put on his butt, by… Skinner!?

It was only a few years back that there were times when the only fire on the Canes team came from Skinner. I've only been following the Canes closely since the 2014-15 season, but the most embarrassing Canes moment I can recall in that time was a game in Buffalo when the whole Slugs team was running Skinner and not one of the Canes came to his defense.

Man I was excited for that 2002-03 season, next thing I knew we were trading for Bruno St. Jacques

Well damn, Rangers get another 2 points.

Offside reviews are as bad as crease reviews circa 1999. The league is absolutely tempting fate with this crap. It’s gonna come up in the Finals and it’s gonna give the league a league a black eye to determine games on something this stupid.

That's why I'd put a limit of 30 seconds at 1/4 speed for review (or similar). If after this they can't see enough to overrule well that's that. When it takes 3 minutes with 4 angles frame by frame and they still get it wrong, well that's f*cked.

Officials are making these calls at full speed. When after dissection they are shown to be wrong it is at least understandable and ya know, shit happens.

Biron is a super homer. You really have to stretch the idea of what constitutes control of the puck for that make any sense.

This was clearly offside.
Yea in the frame before 26 was still pirouetting fully offsides and the puck had already been pulled across the line. It's cherry-picking for confirmation bias to choose a frame where they tagged up after the puck was pulled 2 ft over the line

Montreat easily worst cup finalizer in my life. No 1c no elite offense driver. Just bunch of guys who block shots trying to emulate Debils of 20 years past.

Poor man's Brodeur. Poor man's Steven's. No Elias.

The thing with Montreal is that Suzuki had 1C potential, they had Price, and they had Danault. Now they have neither Price nor Danault.

Here's your source.

So they’re saying the stick has to be in direct physical contact with the puck in order for offside to be called?

That’s not in the rulebook.

So we’re at the point where not only are we disallowing crucial goals for insane, irrelevant reasons… not only are we getting those calls wrong after review… but now we’ve got Campbell legislating from the bench in mid-season.

FFS just get rid of these idiotic reviews. Fixing a handful of actual bad calls a year doesn’t come close to justifying leaguewide disruption of entire games.
