Yeh if you take out their 3 big vets the depth that team has becomes overrated. I thought maybe Pavelski would still be a gamer though, but it’s not looking like it. I expected Benn and Seguin to be mediocre though.
Playoff Pavelksi is often missing in action. Has just been horrible in this series and botching any play. Him being on PP stymies it. He's just generating nothing. He's 39, shouldn't even be out there. Don't know why he is.

Dadonov missing the net on a breakaway in this game is just typical of the stars. People wonder why Deboers looks depressed and agitated all the time. The way the Stars squander chances constantly and have negligible hands is pretty frustrating. Stars always seem to get like this in playoffs. Not bearing down and getting the goal.

But f***. If Pavelski just scores one goal in this series its probably over already. The only reason he's on the ice is to score. Only reason you'd have him in the lineup at all.

Imagine finishing first in the West in what was probably the toughest division in the league and your reward is facing the cheatiest bunch of cheating cheaters in the history of cheating.
Dallas is doing themselves no favours in this series with a lack of focus.

This is what Vegas wanted. they got the opponent that was far less of a scoring threat. Wonder too if Vegas are just using these games to round into form and get players more gelled. Hertyl for instance needing more game time to figure out the Vegas offense and linemates. Stone because he hasn't been playing.... LTIR cheaters are playing the most games and will still be fresh for round 2.

Maybe for the best though. Dallas are far too up and down to be able to handle the AV's and without any scoring they probably would've been pummelled by AV's Impossible to stop the AV's offense and scoring 2 goals a game means Dallas would be dead in that series.

But nobody is really trying to finish first. Its zero accomplishment and isn't worth anything. Once again in playoffs home ice doesn't even matter. Its a paper crown. The real contenders just seem to hang in the weeds not really caring where they place. You have to beat everybody anyway.

If the Oilers do something special this summer they should send a thank you fruit basket to Viktor Arvidsson for scoring in that Hawks game…

Bettman’s NHL ladies and gentleman. So f***in incompetent and lazy with their rules they create situations like this. A situation that the NBA never sees and NBA fans never have to waste time complaining about.

Just another comment but the last 2mins of the game featured the lack of urgency from the Stars. Vegs spent the next minute dominating the Stars right in their zone. Took a minute before Dallas were even able to establish in Vegas end and they didn't get much there either. With game on line, and in third period Vegas were just better. That will likely amplify in game 7. Dallas only chance to beat Vegas was tonight, to keep them on their toes. Soon as Vegas got a W back in this series its over. Pressure will be on Dallas at home and I could see them having scoring trouble again. Halfway through this game and I figured this is another one where Dallas will never score.
Yeah, it's another case of the longer it's 0 0, the better chance of Vegas winning could be seen from miles away.

What's with Boston, same scenario. Pressure is all on them now again as well. Sticks are gripped too tightly and nothing works.

I had a strange dream earlier where Hf Vanarchy were able to post on the Hf Oilers board during games in the next series. Was really weird, like when your little brother trys to get your goat for kicks.

Double posted in the Kane thread but don't want you guys to miss this interview with Evander Kane. He was on the Pat Mcafee show earlier today. Very entertaining. A lot of talk about the Oil, Edmonton and after the interview , about Canadian geography. It's a riot.

i love the fact mcafee is pushing hockey - every little bit helps

This is a very interesting article about Dubois and a possible buyout of his contract before he turns 26 --in June.

But in order to buy him out at the lower rate the Kings have to worry about his birthday and the date that the Cup is awarded.

Kelly Sutherland being allowed to officiate any Game 7 by any team is all you need to know regarding the NHL’s insistence that they drive referee accountability with playoff assignments. At the best of times Kelly Sutherland is a shit referee, but I’ve had the misfortune of watching a bunch of his games down the stretch this season by coincidence and he was a factor in a bad way in a bunch of them.

There is just no possible way that he’s the best ref for as about a high profile game as you will get this season. The NHL either isn’t paying attention or just doesn’t care. Expect a circus.
