It’s apples and oranges to some extent. Other than generalized supposition we can’t make one specific allegation involving McLeod. At least that I’ve seen. That matters in real court if not the court of public opinion. There’s also the jurisdictional issues. It’s messy but there are differences. The thing I don’t understand is what is taking the Hockey Canada thing this long. It’s one incident with a limited number of witnesses and limited forensic evidence. It should t be hard to get the texts and emails and snap chats and instagrams and you can interview the players and the victim. It could be done already as far as fact finding.

I think it goes beyond sports. To me it’s a by product of never being told no. Too much attention and being told you are more important than you are. Sports entertainment politics. Lots of places it rears its ugly head.

Wait I thought (from reading here) that players shouldn’t be suspended while an investigation is on going?

Yeah, there was some one on here about a month ago (HBK....)telling everyone you can't suspend a player while they're only being investigated. It's punishing them when they haven't been proven worng yet. Would love to hear his take on Cole and how the Bolts are wrong. I'm pretty sure we won't hear from him again especially when he was blatantly wrong.

We don't even know if McLeod is being investigated as an active participant, an accomplice after the fact or not at all. There isn't one direct public allegation against McLeod at the moment though. Nor does he already have something else very public on his record that impugns his character like Cole does cheating on his wife with a team reporter.

I don't see the other guys in the Canada investigation getting suspended yet either. When they start getting suspended then fine, off them all for all I care. As long as it's consistent across the board and not just because it's easier to make an example of a fourth-liner.

Then neither should everyone else involved...sure we can make an example of him to make everyone feel better but I'm sure he and the NHLPA would file a grievance if he was the only player in the NHL to be suspended before that investigation was completed and everyone else gets to play.

I didn't know about that story until I saw someone else comment about it, what a wild one that is. That reporters ex fiancé apparently found out the day of the rehearsal dinner for the wedding and called it all off. At least that he found out before the wedding or them having any kids.

I agree. That's why none of them should play. Tampa did the smart thing. Every smart gm / owner and coach knows you can't put a guy in the lineup that's being investigated for being a sexual predator. It's a no brainer.

I readily admit that I don’t understand how the Hockey Canada investigation is supposed to be working.

The organization is clearly self-immolating while not realizing it had been pouring gallons litres of gasoline over itself by defending it’s leadership at all costs.

The investigation might have been pushed aside as the fight over Hockey Canada’s existence took over. I have no idea how the NHL is involved, I’m not even comfortable about any conjecture on my part. It’s very confusing.

Look I'm not saying he's a good hire but what has Sakic done before he became GM for example, he had much less experience. And we can also say he only got the job in the first place because he's their best player ever.
