Chiasson is a cap dump. Why would the Habs trade a positive value player for a negative value one?

Chiasson is not a cap dump. Chiasson is only 1 season removed from scoring 22 goals and 38 points in 18-19 and would have probably got to the 35 point mark in 19-20 if the full season was played.
Armia might have got 40 points in a full season.

I don't understand why Montreal would want to trade Armia. Keep him! Having said that, I would love him on St.Louis.

they don't, there was a rumor that they began contract talks some time back, so unless he wants too much I doubt he's going anywhere.

Regardless the answer is obviously no way the Habs would trade Armia for Chiasson. Not a chance.

Given Chiasson’s dismal season last year I consider him a capdump. The Oilers can use his capspace. The Habs have no interest.
