I've been getting my feet wet in coaching the last two years. I was trainer/asst coach for my sons Peewee B team last year, part time asst coach for my sons Peewee AAA team this year and now trainer/asst for my daughters spring team.
So basically I get to have all the fun competing along side the kids on the bench without all the pressure of being head coach. With what I've seen of the amount of work it takes and the pressure heaped on the head coach I'm not sure I'll ever take the plunge on being a head coach.
Where I'm from there's a solid group of head coaches here and I feel quite fortunate to be able to soak up all I can from them. Maybe in a couple years I'll feel more prepared to take the plunge but as of now, its too much of a workload, at least it is, in rep hockey.
