My take...

Probably around 3-4yrs max at less than $6M. I’d say $5.5-5.75M x 3 is just about right. He’s injury prone, but seems to be an effective 2nd pair guy.

Pre-COVID, he maybe could have gotten over $6M, but with the flat cap and glut of UFA RD scheduled to hit the market I actually wouldn’t be surprised if he made less than $5M. I’d love the Canes to keep him at a Gardiner-like number on 1-2 year deal, but that is very unlikely.

I would think Orlov is probably a comparable. He got 6yrs x $5.1, I could see a similar AAV for Vatanen.
