Andrew Shaw for Brendan Smith straight up, Shaw has one extra year on his contract but he’s someone we need more than Smith. Montreal needs LHD and Smith is a decent puckmover (good when he wants to be) and is decent defensively (also good in in spurts) Shaw plays a physical game and is a RHS. I wouldn’t mind him on the 4th line
NYR need a physical player and hopefully we can become a more physical gritty team
Shaw can also chip in points occasionally

With Smith gone we can give Pionk/Graves a chance in the big leagues as I think they’re both NHL ready
