The injury’s have really hurt us this year, seems like every other game someone’s going down.. we haven’t iced a fully healthy roster once this season.

I am not pleased that he is hurt but the Leafs have bottom 6 wingers and won't miss a beat. Adding a RD for the playoffs will be a bit more complicated but still doable. Its only a big loss if you were expecting him to be dealt and he will be worth at least as much this summer or even next season if he starts off better. As far as trade value towards a better RD goes, Dubas attachment to Barrie and Dermott may be more a factor than AJ being on the shelf.

And there is always the possibility that no deal the Leafs were going to make for the RD they genuinely wanted would even include Johnsson. Its not nearly as bad as another D injury. Just means Dubs needs to do some good work.

Sucks for AJ, but that's gotta impact the chances of a deadline deal. Johnsson won't be dealt, and that reduces the chances of Kapanen/Kerfoot being moved now as well. The depth just isn't there.

Mango's greatest value to us was in a trade, which isn't going to happen this year now.

He has a tough season, no doubt. Hope he has a speedy recovery but I don't think he is in our long-term plans. Was really hoping he would be traded at the TDL for a quality piece that would be of more use to us.

Wish him well and let's see what the plan is in the off-season for him.
