I hope they don't make Mac do one of the accurate shooting competitions, that could get embarrassing for him.

I bet a lot of players will ask Mack WTF is going on with the AVS and how it is in the locker room. It's not every year that they see a collapse of this magnitude.

I personally think MacKinnon has gotten a tad slower since his rookie season.

Agreed, but I think it is a good thing. It naturally happens when players bulk up. MacK's strength/speed combo is rare... if he'd only use it more.

Of course it was bound to happen as soon as he started bulking up, but as you said, he needs to use it more.

You've got that breakaway speed to use while on the rush but also when going in on the forecheck, but use all that muscle gain to dominate down low. He doesn't play nearly enough of a down low type of game for my liking with him bulking up. If he didn't bulk up, I'd be fine with it, but with him bulking up and losing a bit of speed, his game has to translate as well. Otherwise, it's all for naught.

I think it is necessary for speedy players to bulk up to stay effective long term. The NHL has a way of adjusting and being a one trick pony is a path to being a Grabner. I think MacK has shown strides of becoming a more complete offensive player, and I do agree that he should learn how to work down low. He has become much, much better on the half boards 5v5 this year and I think that will end up being his bread and butter more than down low.

Lol, I was thinking the same thing earlier today. It's kind of sad in one way, entertaining in another. I just wish it wasn't the Avs.

Honestly feel he has the best wrist on the team. Sometimes he rushes to get it off but he's the only one capable of scoring from distance with it.
