Love to have kreider here. That player has tree trunks for legs and goes north south with strength and velocity. He has a shot like a cannon and crashes the net often and sometimes knocks goalies accidentally . We need this physical specimen in our pillsbury dough lineup.

What id like vs what we will likely have.

Marchand - Bergeron - Pastrnak
DeBrusk - Krejci - Kreider
Bjork - Coyle - Kuhlman
Wagner - Kuraly - Clifford

vs

Marchand - Bergeron - Pastrnak
DeBrusk - Krejci - Small old dude
Bjork - Coyle - Heinen

I can't stand Heinen, he is the ultimate JAG, 300 players in this league could take his place and do the same job. Possibly the most overrated Bruin, by a portion of the fans, ever
You do realize that Heinen is sitting at 280 in PPG right now. That also includes defensemen. So no 300 players would not be able to take his place and do the same job.

Waiving both Backes and Ritchie has me thinking the same. Looks like we currently have $2.3m in deadline space for him to work with.

That is assuming Miller remains on LTIR right? I am guessing he doesn't come back, but if he does, that changes things a lot.

ltir never ever effects the cap until the moment you go over the cap... so if we have room on the daily calculations, miller is a non-factor

our room is including miller... he is counting. all ltir contracts count

the actual way the ltir works... is you end up maxed out and one of your players is injured. so you need to hire a replacement player. but you are maxed out

so you get to claim an ltir and you get to spend the amount of money that you are over the ceiling

so... as you can see... you have to be at the ceiling before any changes occur... and then you only get the amount of room that you went over.

this is why teams usually try to do roster moves to max the benefit of an ltir... clear as much of his salary for use as possible

it also explains why teams often dont even bother to put a guy on ltir. there is no benefit to an ltir unless you are over the cap

Well then our projected cap space is $712 dollars based on CapFriendly if you take off the LTIR calculation for Miller.
