Team Leetch topped Team Chelios 6-5 in the sixth annual CCM/USA Hockey All-American Prospects Game at KeyBank Center in Buffalo, New York. Brady Tkachuk (St. Louis, Missouri/Boston University) scored the game-winner with just over five minutes remaining and added an assist to earn Player of the Game honors.

Jake Pivonka (Naperville, Illinois//United States National Under-18 Team) opened the scoring for Team Leetch 6:01 into the contest when he buried a centering pass by Jack Randl (Carpentersville, Illinois/Omaha Lancers) past goaltender Drew ReRidder (Fenton, Michigan/United States National Under-18 Team). Paul Cotter (Canton, Michigan/Lincoln Stars) evened the score for Team Chelios with just over five minutes remaining in the opening frame. Cotter collected the puck in the corner, skated out in front and slid the puck by goaltender Jonathan Mor (Highland Park, Illinois/United States National Under-18 Team) to tie the game after one period.

Team Leetch regained the lead 6:50 into the middle stanza on a tally by Ryan Savage (Scottsdale, Arizona/Fargo Force) before Team Chelios tied the contest less than three minutes later when Oliver Wahlstrom (Quincy, Massachusetts/United States National Under-18 Team) finished a one-timer from Joel Farabee (Cicero, New York/United States National Under-18 Team). Just over a minute after Wahlstrom’s tally, Blake McLaughlin (Grand Rapids, Michigan/Chicago Steel/Grand Rapids High) gave Team Leetch a 3-2 advantage when he banged home a cross-crease pass from Tkachuk. Savage scored his second goal of the night on a wrist shot from the right circle with 3:52 left in the middle frame to give Team Leetch a two-goal lead entering the final period.

Randl made it 5-2 in favor of Team Leetch 2:09 into the third stanza before Team Chelios responded with a trio of goals in the next 2:55. Jay O’Brien (Hingham, Massachusetts/Thayer Academy) started the scoring before Jack Perbix (Elk River, Minnesota/Elk River High) and Ryan O’Reilly (Southlake, Texas/Madison Capitols) each tallied to knot the score, 5-5. With just over five minutes to play, Christian Krygier (Novi, Michigan/Lincoln Stars) found Tkachuk at the right face-off dot for a one-timer that proved to be the game-winning goal for Team Leetch.

DeRidder started the game for Team Chelios, finishing with 11 saves (13 shots faced) before Ben Kraws (Cranbury, New Jersey/Buffalo Junior Sabres) made 15 saves (19 shots faced) in relief for the loss. Mor, who started in net for Team Leetch, collected 10 saves (12 shots faced) before Jake Kucharski (Erie, Pennsylvania/Des Moines Buccaneers) made 14 saves (17 shots faced) for the victory.

Jack Goods‏ @GoodsOnSports -

The teams are coming onto the ice here at the KeyBank Center for the All-American Prospects Game. Small crowd, as you probably should expect.
So, Quinn Hughes is pretty impressive. Just stickhandled around a defenseman to get to the net. Don't see that often from d-men.
Nice pass from Jack Randl behind the net. He finds a cutting Pivonka, who got behind his man and beats Deridder. 1-0 Leech.
Team Chelios finds the back of the net. Paul Cotter takes advantage of suspect defense and cuts from behind the net. He sneaks it far corner.
1-1 at the All-American Prospects Game after one period. We'll have a 17-minute break before the start of the second period.

Team Leetch breaks the tie, as Demin shoots a pass from the top of the left circle to Savage at the bottom of the right. 2-1.
Wow, pretty pass through a defender in tight space from Wahlstrom to Farabee, who buries it for Chelios. 2-2.
Tic-tac-toe, from the right to the left back to the right for Leetch. Wise to Tkachuk to McLaughlin, who hits the wide open net.
Snipe from Savage, who recieved a cross-ice pass from Randl on a 2-on-1. 4-2 Leetch.
4-2 Leetch after two here at the KeyBank Center. It's a very free-flowing game so far, lots of nice passes in open ice.

Another goal by Team Leech. Harris's shot leads to a huge rebound off Kraws to the center of the ice. Bad news. Randl gets an easy one. 5-2.
O'Brien answers right back for Chelios, finding the top corner. Then Jensen finds Perbix in front of the net and he scores. 5-4 now!
Wow, another goal by Chelios. O'Reilly from Miller on another pass from the blue line.
Another give and go from Leetch, as Tkachuk is the beneficiary of a Christian Krygier pass. Open net, 6-5 Leetch.

Todd and Kim Krygier outlined a few simple requests of their five children when they signed them up for athletic teams in Novi, Michigan. Work hard. Compete. Strive to be better people than athletes. The formula led to NCAA Division I opportunities for all five Krygier children. And the youngest of the bunch, 17-year-old twins Christian and Cole, have created enough buzz in the hockey world to potentially follow in the footsteps of their father in the National Hockey League.

Christian and Cole Krygier, second-year defensemen for the Lincoln Stars of the USHL, represented their country in August at the prestigious Ivan Hlinka Memorial Cup and recently earned invitations to play in the CCM/USA Hockey All-American Prospects Game in Buffalo. Both events serve as key early-season evaluations for the 2018 NHL Draft.
