I think it's hard to say and every Habs fan voting in this poll will def vote for Romanov.

Especially because we're really excited to see him with the big team and he has progressed so well since getting drafted. Very well rounded dmen and it's being a while since we had a player playing with an edge like that. I like what he brings to our team more than what Smith could.

When I see this poll I think about the old HF ranking system. Where they had both their upside listed as well as the likely hood of reaching it. Smith has the higher upside, I feel like the likelihood of Romanov becoming a better player has the higher probability.

Also I like Dmen to be physical and this kid hits like a truck.

Why do you assume that Smith has higher upside? You mean points wise?

Smith is in the running for back to back DOTY in the CHL. The one question with Smith that will determine if he is a top pair defensmen in the Duncan Keith mold vs a 2nd pair PP specialist is if his skating can go from a 55 to a 60. His shot has really improved this season which is a massive development for him.

I'm not going to comment on Romanov because I feel his development is being stunted being in the KHL much like Rykov's was following two very good WJC.

Yeah, I think if both adapt their defensive game to the NHL Smith will put up far more points. That being said, I still prefer Romanov as I think he is far more likely to hit his ceiling than Smith is to hit that level.

R O M A N O V is way better and more proven than Smith. Smith was only drafted earlier... Besides, both teams are complete ass at developing prospects, so watch them both bust.

Is Romanov more proven because he has played pro khl minutes?

Cuz smith got CHL dman of the year last year, and will potentially get it again this year.

Agree both could bust cuz Montreal and njd...

Turns out his skating went from 55 to about 45/50 when he added 15 pounds.

Ty who? You really think those 6 pts make up the difference for the lack of defense?
LMAO did you fail to understand what I was saying? I was saying the fact that Smith has more points only makes it funnier that he's clearly the inferior player... That means that no I don't think that Smith and his extra points make up the difference, I don't think I can be any more clear, so if you still don't understand I can't help you.

I have no idea why you continue to act like a child though
