What would it take to acquired Goligoski with 50 % retain ?

He's the type of player we need even if he's 35, he can still be good partner for the rest of the season for Weber or he can play the RD with Romanov

Since when Goligoski is slow ?

He's not 25 anymore brother. He's slowed down A LOT.

You,re not trading for 25YO Goligoski, you're trading for a slow d-man with a good 1st pass / PP specialist. He's far from being a top4 dman anymore

Look like age is catching up, just like Weber.

Petry is not 25 anymore him to and he still can skate. I know I'm not trading for the 28 yrs Goligoski, but I'm trading for someone who can finish the year with us on the top 4, that move the puck well and that won't cost that much.

Are you really comparing Petry to Golisgoski? Goligoski NEVER reached Petry's level, period. Habs need a fast skater to play with Weber, not another slow aging d-man that will cost us a pick for nothing. Keep the picks, stand path. The more prospects we have, the stronger the Habs will be in 2-3-4years when our team will be ready to compete with Weber and Price gone, lots of cap room, and some good vets like Gallagher - Petry - Toffoli - Anderson

I didn't say they where at the same level, I only said that it's not because your 35 that it's mean you can't skate anymore. The reality is that there is not a ton of option available and Goligoski is no doubt better then Kulak/Ouellet/Mete

We have 12 pick and we drafted I don't know how many players the last 2 years, they can't all be under contrat. Loosing a 3rd pick won't hurt us and we are acquiring a guy that will probably be our 3rd best D.

Goligoski has slowed but still a very good skater. Also he is not a PP specialist as you say, rather a PK specialist that blocks a lot of shots and eats up minutes, and can still play top four. Maybe you should some due diligence on a player before spouting off.

If we're going to ARZ for defense I'd rather it be Jason Demers. Local guy who is actually right handed to anchor our third pair. He is also cheaper in terms of cap hit

Edmundson-Petry is our first pair now
Chiarot-Weber shutdown pair
Romanov-Demers excellent 3rd pair

Mete/Kulak can rotate with Weber until Chiarot is healthy

That’s the player I think we are getting if we make the move.

Goligoski can play the RD side to (and I think he’s playing more on that side). That’s something I like, because we can used him on every pair.
