At least he finished higher in the standings this season. He’s a team player. His old teams always bottom out when he leaves.

Too bad Gary didn't rig the draft so Detroit won a first overall pick and could have a franchise player like Bedard. I wonder why he and Raymond could do with Bedard or Hughes compared to Larkin .

Meh he's a top six winger, we needed top six wingers.

Oddly enough I think when we got Kane and stapled him to Kane it hurt his game a little bit.

Dcat-Larkin-Raymond works much better than Dcat-Larkin-Kane, Then they tried to split them up with Compher, also not great.

Dude is also captain post master, a thing I remember Sens fans saying lol.

The Cat's best skill is on the PP, where he's excellent. The Sens missed him there, as PP went from like 6th to 18th (estimation).

However, the Sens couldn't keep him, as they need that $7.5 mil going forward to pay Sanderson (extension begins next season), Pinto, Chychrun (or his FA RHD replacement), and probably a new goalie.

They should have never traded for the Cat to begin with, it was poor planning, and Dorion trying to save his job. The fact that it would have taken a $9 mil QO to keep him this year as a RFA was a contractual red flag, which is why other teams were leery of trading for him, as they knew Cat would cause a cap nightmare in 23-24. Dorion probably didn't even research his contract.

Only 27 goals? Didn't he have like 12 of those in the first 8 games
Yeah he was awfully snake bitten near the end of the year where he had like 2G in 28 games at one point.

Became an unexpectedly good set up man, probably got into his own head a bit with his lack of scoring.

All in all pretty much ended up as expected in the end, maybe slightly lower goal totals than expected but it was nice seeing Larkin have an actual good player beside him for the 1st time since Z retired
