I get the league positioning itself as a "developmental" and NHL partnered product. What bugs me are these one year agreements and "soft agreements". Yesterday the Thunder one year affiliated with the Devils while at same time announced a soft agreement with Tampa. The league should just let some teams enter dual affiliations. This would allow teams in areas where there are multiple NHL teams nearby, at least until the ECHL reaches parity in team numbers as the AHL and NHL.
