I really would like if the owners would make their case. These were my 2nd and 3rd best teams in the NL so this is a tough choice for me.

I can say that I'm pretty confident in the team I built this year and it's no doubt the best one I've constructed in my three years. My 3-4-5 hitters are deadly, Arky Vaughan serves as a great lead-off hitter to get the offense started, there's a good mix of left and right handed bats on both the starting lineup and bench.

My starting rotation has both strikeout and groundball pitchers. Not to mention, I have Lester in the bullpen who has proven throughout his career that he can perform at peak level in any situation. I have solid confidence in my defense and bullpen. I know many raised their eyebrows when I took Griffey at 9th overall and although he does not have the benefit of longevity of some that I passed over, he does provide an all-around talent that I believe is virtually unmatched. My drafting strategy was to have an end product with no glaring weaknesses and strengths in numerous categories. A team that possessed power, speed, reliable batting averages and on-base percentages, clutch ballplayers, and balance in the rotation and bullpen. I believe I accomplished that.

In the 1st round's closest vote in the Junior Circuit, the Dukes, behind the great pitching of Bob Gibson, narrowly edge the Whales in 7 games.

Great teams both of you, crazy first round matchup.
