Larionov was the worst forward on his line. Krutov was a better player and Makarov was superior by a wide margin. It's funny you should mention the '87 Canada Cup, because Larionov was nowhere near the best Soviet players in that tournament. Larionov gets too much credit for his longevity and NHL success.Only if all you've ever watched was the NHL. He deserves his place based on his play in the '87 Canada Cup alone. If you've never watched it I invite you to watch the 3 game finals as it was the best hockey ever played IMO. The famous Soviet green unit was in it's prime Gretzky was centering a young Lemieux on an amazing Canada team.
