Obviously disappointed. A lot of emotions running through my head. Definitely a very emotional day.
Obviously it’s not the end of my career by any means, just a bump in the road. So, yeah, tough day.
- Dylan McIlrath

There is no panic in this locker room. It’s a lot of fun. We have a lot of belief in ourselves.
We know we just have to focus on the next shift, work hard, and then usually good things are going to happen.
So we just bided our time, and then our work ethic [resulted in] things going our way.
- Brandon Pirri

Kreider needs at least one practice with the team, contact, see how he is.
Morning skates, when you’ve been out this long, don’t count.
- Alain Vigneault

Very excited to have Buch back. Zibanejad hasn't looked as good with a rotating cast of characters as he did with Kreider and Buch. This is likely a lot more Kreider than Buch, but any return to "normalcy" will help.

Happy as I've been about the wins, seeing Buchnevich back gets me that much more enthusiastic. It's going to be one of the big stories of the year getting an idea of what his potential is going forward.

Carolina isn't a playoff team. This is one of those games that, if the team is to be competitive, you would expect us to win or, at the very least, outplay them.

that's funny because we always win against Carolina but we almost never outplay them.

Well Rasp I feel like this team is a little bit different than years past. Now anything can happen because its the Rangers but I think this offense is highly potent because if its talent and unbelievable speed especially in the transition game.

Yeah against Boston they started out real slow and it took them a bit to solve the bruins 1-2-2. But once they did, with the help of penalties, they were flying and just kept coming. They looked like the Penguins did against us in the playoffs last year. I mean even before they solved it they kept hitting Miller as if it was Kreider cutting around the edge off the LW boards.

Excited to have Buch back tonight.

Can't believe they are just having their home opener now. Unfortunately for them they are playing the Rangers, so there will be nearly a 50/50 split between fans haha.

Anyway, don't lose to this trash team so we can ride a 4 game winning streak into the real competition Sunday.

Wonder where AV is going to slot Buch at. Third line would be my guess, with it being first game back. Then once Kreids comes back, re-adjust from there. Would AV really consider throwing Zucc on the third line? Gotta keep the first line together, and Kreider-ZBad.

Vesey-Step-Nash
Miller-ZBad-Zucc
Grabner-Hayes-Buch
Pirri-Lindberg-Fast

Same D, probably.

Will be missing this one as I have tickets to the symphony at 8. I will say this, with Cam Ward in goal we should score 5-6.

That means this will be a game we win/lose 2-1.

Silverfish, don't get too excited but your boy Nakladal is in the line up against us tonight. :naughty:

Can't wait for Lee Stempniak to score against us again. Over/under on how long it takes him? I'm setting the bar at 12 minutes.

Carolina is also a corsi juggernaut, so I'm expecting us to see our first real challenge with consistently sustained pressure. Their d corps is just ridiculous.

I'm going to guess that he scores within the first 2 minutes. Gotta keep that streak going, as it seems to be the winning formula... :sarcasm::laugh:

Niles, pls. It is a birthday present for my wife. They are playing all the music from her favorite movie ever, Nightmare Before Christmas. The joyous part for me is going to be sitting through an hour and a half of this while sick as can be. I can't go more than 5 minutes without coughing. Would be the perfect night to kick back and watch the Rangers.

Carolina is a GREAT shot suppression team. They don't give up many shot attempts at all, but they struggle to create much offense. This is the area that the rangers have improved in a lot so far. They don't give up nearly as many good scoring chances as they did last year. Hopefully this continues. Think it will be a tough game, but if the Rangers play their game, they should come out on top.

I will be missing this one as I will be taking a road trip to middle-of-nowhere Pennsylvania. This is a game we have no excuse not to win.

Would just like to add that i do think it would be a mistake in trading Miller for whatever defenseman we chose to get. Hes been a beast the better part of last half of last season, and thus far this year. Playing like we wanted Kreids to play. His CONTRACT is very conducive to flexibilty in this cap world. We trade him for someone like Vatanen or Trouba, we are asking for TROUBLE with our cap.

Not if you trade Nash and buyout Girardi...
