Both teams on the tail-end of a b2b.

Panthers on a bit of a skid. Stolarz and Sandstrom in net (I assume, not confirmed).

A lot of eyes will be on the goaltenders. Sandstrom is going to have himself a game, one way or another. I hadn't realized Stolarz's raw stats were this good. 13-5-2 .925 2.02

Stoli is having a fabulous season. He’s a UFA this summer and I doubt Florida will be able to afford him as a backup. Some team will likely give him a shot to be at least 1B guy in a tandem.

Since leaving the Flyers:

.916 sv% (10th in NHL)
+0.85 DFSV% (4th in NHL)

On balance has probably been the best back-up in the NHL over the last 3 years.

a lot of players get better when they leave the Flyers. Flyers, historically, have been impatient with the way their players develop...

Remember when people were scoffing about him being irrelevant and slamming anyone concerned about that process?

Yeah.

Yep. Crazy even without hindsight.

One of best AHL goalies in 2015-16 and 2016-17... at age 21-23.
Missed a whole year with injury.

Played only 19 games for the Flyers over 5 years (where he had a .911 sv%) in the organisation and was traded at age 25...

but they prioritised playing Neuvirth over him.
Claimed Calvin Pickard and gave him a chance before Stolarz.
and then did not really give him a proper chance to be back-up - even in a season where blighted by goalies injuries.
and then traded him for Talbot - in a season where they were not making the play-offs.

A comedy show when it comes to process and maximising asset value.

Seems like it’s been that way for so long. So many go on to be high level players elsewhere.

I LOVE how Tippett, Frost, Forester, York, Brink, Ersson etc are playing. If we hit a few players the next few drafts and get a 1C and 1D we are in great shape. I know a lot of teams could say the same but the Flyers could be at that top level.

I'm pretty sure I have a memory of him being rewarded for an NHL shutout with demotion.

How was Coots yesterday? I watched the game with a group, kinda tough to really dial in when you are talking about daycare lol

Felt like he had a couple chances with Lycksell

He looked fine. That line has some chemistry. Seemed to have a little bit more jump and was generally involved despite the lack of PP/SH time.

Traded him for Talbot and then didn't even give Talbot a serious look. Another top tier asset management example.
