There are only 17 times someone scored 150+ points.

9 are Gretzky, 4 are Lemieux.

Only 6 different players.
I know. Just looked at teams like the Habs and Isles for example. Long histories, some amazing players and low (relatively speaking) points record. Kinda crazy when you think of some of the dominate runs those two franchises had.

Mike Bossy had 147 points in 80 games. Or 151 per 82.

Guy Lafleur had 136 in 80.

Realistically, there's only been about 20 seasons in NHL history where someone other than Gretzky or Lemieux or Howe or Orr influenced Esposito could have hit 150.

The only name I didn't recognize on that list was Mike Rogers, had to search him up. 3 straight 100 point seasons, and almost 3 straight 40 goal seasons on some mediocre teams. That's still a pretty good player even in the early 1980s

You'd also think NJD would have a 100 point scorer by now, but thats gonna happen soon with J. Hughes. Elias might have had his peak not been in the DPE.

And kudos to Josi for being the only defenseman on the list, he'll probably have that one for some years.
Mike Rogers?

Interesting that 2 of the 5 teams w/o a 100 point scorer have won Cups, and one at least one more(NSH), has been to the finals.

If Jack Hughes can stay healthy for a full season New Jersey probably has a 100+ point scorer pretty damn soon, like next season.

I suppose Eichel is capable of scoring 100 points based on talent alone but he’s never really been a big point producer.

The rest aren’t anywhere near close.
Forsberg just got 94. Not too crazy to think he could hit 100.

Kinda crazy that only 5 teams have a 150 point scorer. Youd think the original 6 teams would all have that.
why? 150 point seasons only became a thing in the 80s, way after the O6 era.

and like others have said, most of them were Gretzky and Lemieux.

2 of them (Nicholls and Jagr) were guys who played with Gretzky and Lemiuex

Ya, looked him up and he had quite a career for such an unknown guy. Smaller ppg dude in that era? Nice.

Wayne Gretzky is further from today's game than Jarad McAnd was from today’s. Take a step back and pay attention to your posting

Absolutely, and if you wanna compare apples and oranges you gotta factor in the exchange rate, and how that applies to this scenario with Wayne Gretzky and Jarad McAnd.

Nah, but seriously, what?
All I'm seeing is that 31 franchises don't have a 200 point scorer, and the team I cheer for ain't one of them.

Congrats? Like I’m sure that was cool and all, but it was a long time ago and is just kinda a thing, albeit a good one. My team is the only one to have employed Patrick Kaleta, so.. tie.

Not mentioned in this image is that Montreal hasn't had a 100 point scorer since 1986. The closest wa Damphousse with 97 points in 1993. These days, most of us Habs fans would be happy with a PPG scorer. Suzuki should get there if Caufield recovers his scoring touch and Slaf keeps improving.

Jagr came one point short of 150. Esposito, Gretzky, Lemieux, Nicholls, Yzerman, McDavid. That's the 150 list.

Explains why he’s not on the HoF

Scrub couldn't even crack 2000 points, barely eligible for the hall of very good.

In case anyone wonders, he's not eligible to the HHoF until he's been retired from professional hockey for 3 years. Apparently said he's retiring from Kladno after next season so he should be eligible for the hall in 2028.

NJ definitely surprising with all their history

Elias (96 points) in 2000-01 might have had a shot if the team didn't roll the lines and PP time somewhat evenly. By TOI that season, Elias (1st line, 1st PP) vs. Mogilny (2nd line, 2nd PP) and Bobby Holik (3rd line, 1st PP):

Elias: 18:44 per game - 13:31 EV - 3:03 PP - 2:09 SH
Mogilny: 16:53 per game - 14:04 EV - 2:41 PP - 0:08 SH
Holik: 15:49 per game - 12:51 EV - 2:52 PP - 0:07 SH

By comparison, some other first line forwards on other clubs saw a lot more ice time.

Bure: 23:14 per game - 16:45 EV - 4:52 PP - 1:38 SH
Jagr: 23:19 per game - 16:40 EV - 5:43 PP - 0:55 SH
Sakic: 23:01 per game - 16:12 EV - 4:47 PP - 2:01 SH
Modano: 22:24 per game - 14:37 EV - 4:28 PP - 3:20 SH

Another 'what if' was that Jason Arnott (and Scott Niedermayer) held out for the first 19 games of that season. Bobby Holik and Sergei Nemchinov took games in Arnott's spot with Elias/Sykora. Pretty sure I remember a game where journeyman Steve Kelly got an audition on the top line.

Elias during Arnott hold out: 19 GP - 7 goals - 11 assists - 18 points
Elias after Arnott returned: 63 GP - 33 goals - 45 assists - 78 points (101.5 point pace)

Ahh, gotta appreciate Phoenix Coyotes legend Teemu Selanne and Winnipeg Jets legend Marian Hossa...
Yeah, hate this list.

6 franchises. The ARZ record is 86: Clayton Keller (2023) and Keith Tkachuk (1997).

You mean when they played 50 games a season ?
... and traveled by train, and played with heavy wooden sticks, and worked jobs in the off-season, and didn't have 26 extra weak teams full of weak players to compete against, and smoked between periods and didn't have modern physio / nutrition / recovery plans ...
