in an 82 game season you simply cannot say things like this. bad teams beat good teams all the time.

When you're in Game 38 of the season in the dog days of January, little different than when you haven't won a game yet and the urgency's clearly going to be there. You simply can't let the season get away from you in October like three years ago.

omg the Back to School is killing me. Well done.

Prepare yourself for the low camera angle. I like it because their camera operators know how to frame it right and follow the action but some people hate it.

Can you mock up a photoshop of Mark Fayne kicking Deboer's puppy? It would explain everything and be amazing!

Jim's not wrong...if we can't beat Edmonton with a scrubby backup goalie then how many of these games are we supposed to win?

Or you let a team with a ton of forward turnover have some time to gel, learn the team system and each other.

It's not exactly impossible to win the 'occasional' game while you're gelling. They scored three goals the other night, that should be enough to win a fair number of games, but our defense which shouldn't need time to gel were the ones giving up two-on-ones and breakaways all over the place.

And the guy who's been here the least amount of time has been the main guy creating offense.

i wouldn't call it a must-win but we should probably win this game if we want to stay with the pack considering the road trip won't be getting easier.

I'd rather stay as close to .500 or higher right now.

You can't put yourself in a hole early in the season. None of these games are really must win games individually, but we must keep our record respectable.

2 games.

After two losses, one would think that DeBoer will try to mix things up a little by adding one of Fayne, Josefson or Olesz... right?

You would think, but Pete does Pete always. When was the last time he tweaked the lineup and gave us all our fix?

So if we won the last 2 games would you be planning the Stanley Cup Parade route instead?

A fair number of those break aways were the forwards fault for being out of position or making bad passes. Defense had its fair share of mistakes, and Marty let in some softies, but the forwards were not doing their share either.

Or like 2 years ago when we went something like 3-5-1 and won the conference.

The Oilers and the Flames are MUST WINS. They are the two weakest opponents we will probably play for the rest of the calendar year. Yes there are must wins in October.

Well we can agree to disagree.

Let's just have an optimistic GDT, full of positive thoughts.

Even if Pete decides to scratch Brunner and Larsson tonight.

i don't care how we do it, i want 5 points from this road trip.

We can't come out of the initial stretch is a massive hole.
