Not a fan of putting Stewart on the Staal/Coyle line. I think that gets changed up early in the game.

I'd rather have JEE take the LW slot next to Staal and Coyle, much like when Tuch got a RW slot in the top 6 on his call-up earlier in the season. Put him with some offensive guys and see what happens.

(Although, I do like the idea of having JEE and Nino together with Schroeder on the wing. Maybe it's not the worst idea in the world.)

Yea - I don't see the reason for the line changes. Outside of stupid penalties they played well against Washington. Why change it up outside of replacing Parise with Ek?

Yeah, I immediately hate that Staal line ... but I like the other lines and the idea of that 4th, should be interesting tonight to see how it goes.

I hope they put EK in and take White out, I am not a fan of Schroeder at all, but White has solely been responsible for multiple goals because he just shuts down and stops playing. Anything that can help eliminate mistakes is okay with me.

I agree about White. Give him some time tonight running the James Sheppard Memorial Popcorn Machine so he can reflect on some of the decisions he's been making lately.

I thought that the Wild were the better team against the Caps. Them coming back was huge, and hopefully a sign of a turnaround going into the end of the season. For most of the year the Wild have been finding ways to win, but recently we've been finding ways to lose. Now it's time to leave all that in rear view, and start peaking towards the playoffs. Wins would be nice, but more importantly, I would like to see a sound game, especially defensively. Doobs needs to get right- whatever it takes...rest, practice, massages, voodoo, saunas, voodoo while in the sauna...if we lose a game or two while he is rested it's no biggie.

Some other guys such as Coyle, Nino, and Koivu need to hit the reset button. If we are going to go anywhere in the playoffs, we need at least two of the three to be playing well.

I really don't like that Scandella - Dumba pairing. However, Scandella - Prosser could be worse.

Yuck, hate those lines.

  • If Ottawa shuts down Zucker-Koivu-Granlund, they should have an easy game tonight.
  • Placing Stewart & Coyle on Staal's wings is going to anchor him down. Don't think Staal can jumpstart both guys who have been struggling.
  • Haula-Hanzal-Pominville... I can't think of a more invisible line. I guess it's defensively responsible?
  • Nino-Ek-White/Schroeder might have some offensive chops, but I'm skeptical of their defense. If they get caught out with Scandella-Dumba, they'll struggle.
  • Speaking of Scandella-Dumba... I don't understand why that experiment keeps happening? It's pretty clear they both have gaps defensively.

I think Prosser has played a couple solid defensive games lately. Not sure why Boudreau's avoiding Brodin-Dumba.

Not sure either. It is pretty evident that Brodin is our 2nd/3rd best Dman(depending on who you ask). Why he is being relegated to the 3rd pairing on Prosser babysitting duty is beyond me.

Meh, I don't know. Pommers/Hanzal connected twice last game. I'm fine with all lines except for that Staal line. Stewart has no place in the top 6 and for the past couple months, neither does COYLE. Those are some big boys to ask Staal to try and carry.
