[FIELDSET="QUOTES TO NOTE"]

We talked after the first about how we couldn’t play pond hockey and get into a track meet against this team.
We needed to play smarter, work harder and get back to basics. And I think we responded well. We played much better.
We made much better decisions and were able to carry it through.
- J.T. Miller

We just came out flat. We sat back on our heels and they took it to us.
But the good thing about our group is we understand that it’s three periods of hockey. We had two more to play, and our game just slowly came.
- Derek Stepan

We’re trying to play a fast-paced game and we’re also trying to check quickly. Tonight I believe we saw that in the second and the third.
It would’ve been easy for us on back-to-back nights to maybe not put out the way we were expected to, but not this group.
- Alain Vigneault

I'd play Raanta again if it wasn't for the media ********* that occurred the last time a NYR backup started 2 games straight when Henrik was healthy. (Either Talbot or Biron, don't remember)

Go with the hot hand until he cools.

It hasn't been Pirri's defensive play that has been his weak point, it's his board play, puck control and skating speed.

Still a very polar player and I don't think center is the position to get him enough shooting chances.

Yeah, where's this "he's irresponsible in his own zone" criticism coming from?

BTW, I'd really like to see Puempel in over Lindberg right now, just to see the kid 'a game and what he brings.

Yeah, where's this "he's irresponsible in his own zone" criticism coming from?

Felt like the entire off-season after signing Pirri, and before when we signed him when he was mentioned, that everyone seemed very wary of his defensive play.

It's possible that I'm projecting the vocal minority to the majority here, and that's my bad.

I remember people thinking he sucked when we signed him because he had been on so many teams.

Jonathan mostly.

 As an aside, I think it would be awesome (i.e. hilarious) if we could have a sticky thread listing HFNYR posters and their corresponding vendettas :naughty: I'm a retired mod, by the way, so I know first-hand what a goddamn nightmare it would be. Still. Awesome. Who do I petition to?
