I wonder what the Flyers think of Farabee because he would be an awesome pickup for us.

The potato-ass quality of this gif doesn’t really capture the intricacy of that little play, but yeah. Love to see Smith decieving defenders, forcing them to focus on him, which frees up Werenski for an open look.

Late thoughts, but I echo what Jargon and Jux said

I was really impressed by Smith today. He's just such a smart and creative player. He was generating high quality chances whenever he stepped onto the ice and he had the confidence to match. Didn't look like a junior player out there at all.

His hands in tight are elite, his pass selection was elite and even the deft plays to keep possession ticking or to evade pressure along the walls were all very impressive. Super fun to watch.

He was also reponsable in his defensive game and won some FO.
I hope he gets more shifts in the upcoming games.

Anyone going to watch the game today? Smith should get plenty of opportunities against France.
I’ll try to catch some of it at work.

I didn’t post much about the game against Slovakia because Smith was partially responsible for a goal against and basically was benched afterwards. Hopefully he can earn some more ice today.

Sounds like Zetterlund is having himself a good tournament. It’s nice to see him have continued success. I think, in an ideal world, he’ll be a great 3rd liner for us (with, say, Edstrom and Bystedt — the Swedish
Meatball line) that can move up the lineup in case of injuries, but I think he can do well with Smith too.

Anyway, happy to see him doing well.

John Hynes sucks so much. What is the point of having Smith if you're gonna give him 5:23 TOI against France of all teams? At this point he shoulda stayed home

Will needs to be more selfish. He’s Joe Thornton levels of pass-first. Take the puck with authority, my dude.

I keep forgetting this tournament is happening and that there are actually games on TV.
One of the pros of being in an international community, and especially in the hockey community, is that it's impossible to not know this is going on lol.

Rotating players in and out of the lineup is a great way to build team chemistry. Almost as good as line blender.:sarcasm:
