So we trade out Colton, replace him with Trenin.
Trade out Girard, replace him with Behrens.
Absolutely not. That would be a massive downgrade and would set Behrens up to fail before he even gets a chance.

I dont really see many scenarios at all where Trenin stays. He's by far the most likely to leave IMO and I think its like 95%.

Not hard to replace this waste of 5M

Guess we might as well look for a Makar replacement as well, waste of $9M for sure, right?

G didn’t have his best night (covering for Manson can do that some nights), but he was arguably the best defensemen the prior two games.

More than anything G needs to stay healthy. He does that, he’ll be fine in his role. If he doesn’t, it hurts too much to keep covering. He isn’t moving though as there isn’t a built in replacement yet and the Avs shipped out the only guy who could next year in a reasonable fashion.

Trade out Colton for a semi mobile Vet RD to pair up with behrens. I know it's wishful thinking

I'm still of the mind that mikkola would've been a great addition on the backend.

One injury and Behrens/Malinski are in your top4? And what about the year after when Mikko needs a big raise?

Rantanen only had 9 points in 5 games vs Winnipeg.

I sure hope we can get a solid prospect for him. Maybe a decent Dman

I'm thinking more Mikko + G for Tkachuk and Chychrun.

I'll take Rants over Landy considering one's good for a hundred points and the other hasn't played in years and probably won't ever.

Valid point. But common sense isn’t allowed in here.

If there is one player I’d kill to have on this team it’s Brady Tkachuk. Especially if Landeskog can’t play again.

Only way you trade Rantanen is if you can pull off a huberdeau for Tkachuk kind of thing. I don’t think there’s a player like that on the move right now

This is an actual plausible trade offer even though I don’t think Rantanen moves, it’s similar to the Huberdaeu trade.

Its pretty quiet right now but I think the Brady wanting out of Ottawa rumours are going to get a lot louder over the next 9 months

Pssccchhh. Awful.

If we're happy, a journeyman with offensive upside. Or a shut down forth line center who can win some faceoffs. Maybe Duhaime from his new team. Near trading deadline.

Maybe Radek Bonk from retirement?

Do you honestly think Ottawa trades that for one year of Rantanen? Get real.
