Masa is a defensive liability in the OF, is a full time DH on the road.
In hindsight, I think the Sox thought he would be an average defensive OF.
He is an expensive DH at 18M AAV.
I like the lineup with rotating Duran / Abreu/O'Neill and Refsynder

My working theory is that they never really wanted Masa but signed him hoping he'd help attract Ohtani and/or Yamamoto this winter, and now that that didn't work out they're stuck with him and treating him like crap in frustration.
