Stian Solberg seems like a guy we could target and may be available around where we pick.

I expect the Canucks will try to recoup a 2024 draft pick or two before the TDL. Friedman might make a decent rental for a team looking for some blueline depth; And they could afford to part with 'B' level prospect in Abbotsford for a later round pick.

Allvin was just on with Kyper and Bourne on Sportsnet......He said they consulted with their amateur scouting staff for many months before pulling the trigger on the Lindholm deal.

When it became apparent that their 2024 first rounder would be well into the bottom half of the draft, they figured it was a price they could live with. Apparently at about pick #20, the talent basically falls of a cliff.

So whoever the Flames pick probably won't be in a position to help them for at least two or three seasons. As for the fourth rounder, it's basically a flyer. A lot of players picked in the 4-7 rounds never even earn a contract.

Yikes, one of my favorite hockey days is draft day. Looks like this year I won't be needing to rush home after work to watch it.

Looked it up. Since the expansion of the draft in 1969m there's been 6 teams 3 three picks or less.

Avalanche 2022: 2
Flames 2022: 3
Blue Jackets 2019: 3
Oilers 2023: 3
Maple Leafs 2023: 3
Maple Leafs 2021: 3

I am very confident that Allvin can get us down to 1.

Could save on budget if they just took it down to 0.

The Avs with two picks after winning the cup was hilarious. Apparently they just partied the whole draft weekend, and none of the scouts gave a single shit cause they all got a ring

That's the dream folks.

The last time we had a shot we were far too stingy and walked away with absolutely nothing for it. If you're a true contender, you shouldn't be picking in the first at all during your window.

Take a goalie in the mid rounds is my only request at this point

No goalies this year. Next year I want Josh Ravensbergen, late first/early second.

North Van kid playing in Prince George.

17 years old, 6'5, 190 lbs. 16-4-1, 2.31 GAA, .923 save % and 6 shutouts in hist first 20 WHL games.

Kid is a stud.

Looking at the upcoming 2024 draft, expert draft-watchers have labelled it somewhat 'mediocre'. It's top-heavy with d-men, who are always more of a crapshoot in the first round. And apparently after about pick #20, the talent really starts to slide.

I think it's possible that the Canucks identify another 'faller' in the third round, like they did with Brzustewicz. As of this writing, the Canucks also own the Devils fourth rounder in the trade of Curtis Lazar; They have two picks in Round #6 and one in the Round #7.

So barring any more deals, obviously this draft isn't likely to do much to move the needle in the Canucks overall prospect pool.
