Not off-hand but I think you can find something
There's a lot of luck involved in whether you remain in the NFL for multiple years. Betheard and Mullens are not anything special. But, right place, right time for them being in SF in that period between Hoyer to Jimmy G, with Hoyer's and Jimmy's injuries in back to back seasons, they get in game action. They were not very good, but that still gave them game action.

Now they bounce around a couple of other teams as backups when HC want to have someone with starts vs a rookie contract QB or a guy like Rourke.

Dobbs, I don't recall doing anything in Pitt gets claimed and starts for Ten because Willis is too raw, which lands him a backup job and ultimately starter role in AZ with Kyler out. Dealt to Minny and gets a couple more starts, then backup to SF this off-season.

I don’t know what he was trying to do there, I get why he thinks that, but lesson learned that as a media member now, you need to back up your crazy shit.

His brother attended the Kentucky Derby so, probably where this came about.
But, I agree, going to learn quickly, like MacAfee, that when you go corporate, there are different standards than being independent.

The Preakness would be more his scene anyways.

It’s only a matter of time before there’s not enough to go around to all the networks and outlets that will pay what the league deems necessary

So 18 or 19 games? Because schedule expansion is the only way to solve this.

2 pre-season + 18 regular season is coming to the NFL to match the CFL. Goodell has even said so himself.

It never made sense the amount of pre-season NFL had. Brings it down more in line with other sports.

NHL 6-8 preseason/82 regular season 7.1%-9.7%
NBA 4-5 preseason/82 regular season 4.9%-6.1%
MLB 27-30 pre-season/162 regular season 16.7%-18.5%
NFL was 4 pre-season/16 regular season 25%
NFL is now 3 pre-season/17 regular season 17.6%
NFL will be 2 pre-season/18 regular season
11.1%

The NFL will probably add one more playoff team to each conference too.

Think working out Christmas Day games delayed the schedule release.

Also there’s some unsourced posts in the algorithm trying to link the SNF opening night with Jerry Jones wanting the Cowboys to open in San Francisco.

Bears already naming Caleb Week 1 starter. There wasn’t another option but I guess they just wanted people to talk about them.

Figured it’d be the Texans but that’s a big game to start the season. Could have 1 seed implications right from the jump.

Also a big one for CBS (or Sunday network) to lose to NBC. Premier game in the AFC. Will be a big audience so figured they go with something that would get a boost vs being a middle of the season game.

At one point there was a suggestion for Texas- Bears 1st round meet

NFL is going to run December 21, which isn’t unusual for them, but this going against the expanded college football playoff
