I am glad that this tournament was played and that we could watch the stream. Hockey was back. Due to lack of practice time it was not a polished effort, but at least it was something.
It is premature to come to any conclusions based upon this sort of short tournament where you have players of varying levels of skill and development playing together. It is pretty clear, however, that most, if not all, of the players need more development. But that is not surprising since they range in age from very newly drafted 18 year olds to newly AHL eligible 20 year olds, to one 21 year old overage (King), and they are playing against a similar level of competition.
It will take me far more time and viewings to come to any real conclusions about most of the players. I am not going to get too high on any of them at this point in time, but at the same time I am not going to get too down on others who did not shine during this tournament. I still have hope for them all, although realistically many of them will not reach the NHL.
