Neat! Glad you like it.

I need the ocean and forest. I hate the desert, the sun (will be the end of us all) and hot weather in general.
I miss the ocean and forest too. That’s why I spent time in Mallorca last month. Thankfully Vegas has an international airport that makes travel easy. And I get to see Sharks games without blackouts. Like I said, other than the local team, it’s a fun place.

Buncha peeps that live in Vegas?

Not I. Never been to Vegas, never going to Vegas.
You are missing out. I could never live there but Vegas is a blast to visit. As a sports fan I love hanging out in a sports book on any big sports day. Big wall of TVs with every game on and fans cheering and jeering pretty much every score because everyone has money on the games. It’s not uncommon for me to win enough to pay for the trip and have fun doing it. Plus, the entire strip is one big party because you can drink everywhere, even while walking down the street (just like the French Quarter.) There are plenty of other things to do. Most people really enjoy the occasional trip to sin city.

@sharks_dynasty too

I had to quit drinking a few years ago. I never really drank at home, was always at a bar with friends after work. I sort of aged out. I smoke a lot of pot now. It's actually pretty great. Had my time in the sun regarding drunken debauchery. Grew up near New Orleans. I don't do crowds any more. Couple Sharks games a year and a couple Giants games a year. That's about it. I mean, I spend hours in the park every weekend with friends, if it ain't raining. We've been using the same couple of spots for about 17 or 18 years or so, it's really chill. I just don't like crowds any more. COVID really let my inner introvert bloom.

But, I've never had any desire to be in any desert for any reason ever. It's almost like phobia level shit for me.

People look at me funny when I complain about having to go to Hawaii for work, because it's just too hot. Vegas is even worse (and I don't gamble or do much drinking), so that's a no.

If there's a good festival or something, though, maybe. I'd like to do Psycho Las Vegas, depending on the lineup.

I like Hawaii. I'm ok with HOT if there's a body of water or a pool. Oh, and A/C, of course.

You are not alone. I have an occasional drink, but my party days are behind me. I’d much rather travel and enjoy nice places than party in loud places. I go to the casinos here when people are visiting. Otherwise there’s plenty to do off the strip.

It looks like you have a fun vibe on the weekends. Spending time with good friends (especially if they are Sharks fans) is the best way to go. As for the desert heat, it can get cold as well, so perhaps a winter visit will work better for you! The desert can be quite healing and peaceful. Check out Joshua Tree. It’s like an alien world.

kool. Maybe some winter I'll test myself versus the desert. I feel like there's so many other things I want to see. Friends are Shark fans, but they're not as rabid as I am. They like basketball and football too. Yuk. haha

Sin City
Get a mile away from the resort corridor, and Las Vegas valley is pretty much like any suburban desert city.

Major music artists come through on international tours and/or have multiple event residencies. The Smith Center hosts orchestra, ballet, theatre, jazz and more cultural events. Think of an (indoor) activity and you can find it in the region. Think of out door activities and and it probably can be done (seasonally). Almost every sport you can think of is in town (maybe not the highest level/major). And every gourmet/gourmand style you can think of and most celebrity chefs have a presence.

The weather has been an adjustment, but other than that, it’s been a great time here. The food scene is incredible!
