This is usually a three-week commitment that requires you to check the thread almost daily. Do not sign up if you cannot commit to this. Two auto's and you will be relieved of your duties as GM.

We will use the authentic draft order based on points percentage as of March 30, 2023.

PHASE ONE: 2023 NHL ENTRY DRAFT
We will have a 7-round 2023 NHL Entry Draft.

Picks: The draft clock will run from 8 a.m. to Midnight ET. Each pick will be 4-hours long. Once time is up on a pick, anyone can auto the pick. We auto 3 North Americans, then 1 European, from NHL Central Scouting's Final Rankings list. Goaltenders are NOT auto'd. Before any more picks are made, the GM can change the auto pick and not be charged with an auto. However, all auto picks are final once the next pick is made. No exceptions.

NOTE: All teams must have a minimum of FOUR and a maximum of TWELVE picks in any draft. The ONLY exception to this rule is if a real-life team currently holds fewer than four or more than twelve.

PHASE TWO: FREE AGENT FRENZY
You may NOT sign any pending UFA's (this includes Group 6 UFA's). Following the draft, there will be a UFA signing period. All UFA's are assumed to want to test free agency (this does not mean they won't re-sign with their old team). I will act as Universal Player Agent and weigh the role and salary offered from each team.

The Salary Cap will have a max of $83.5M and a floor of $62.2M.

NOTE: No trade can involve more than FIVE pieces on a side, or EIGHT pieces total. Also, if any player gets traded who absolutely wouldn't be (i.e. McDavid), the deal also gets vetoed automatically. Either GM can post the trade on the thread, but I need the other to confirm it. If the trade is borderline veto-worthy, PLEASE seek my approval first.

Traded picks are limited to 2023, 2024, and 2025.

Rosters: Please post your initial roster, and post an updated version when a trade is made. Always include Cap status. Rosters listed without scratches (since that would never happen) are not allowed.

After you pick, please PM the next GM to notify them! And POST THIS WITH YOUR PICK!!! If you cannot PM for whatever reason (i.e. on a phone), ASK SOMEONE TO PM in your post.

Please, do not announce trades until all teams have a GM.

:caps some starting/asking prices for specific players...

Kuznetsov- 1st+B prospect, can retain some and take back a bit of salary if need be as well. Willing to haggle and negotiate.
Wilson- 1st+a good prospect/young roster player or two. I'm far from opposed to moving Wilson but I'm not sure I'd do it lightly.

Throw me a mid round pick and you can have a year of Anthony Mantha for half off.

Don't have a set price for everyone but I'll listen on anyone but Ovi and Sandin, though younger guys like Protas/McMichael also aren't top priorities to move unless they're included in a package for an upgrade.
Not a chance in hell Wilson gets traded. Both parties have said they want to sign a long term deal. They will get something done.

I always love when people come in here throwing fits about moves. 90% of the time they are fans of teams that weren’t picked until the end. They easily could have joined.
I mean just read the thread as an observer and keep it to yourself. Even better join next time. Would enjoy not having a second team.

Thanks @My Cozen Dylan

:avsColorado Avalanche offseason: I really had to shift gears with the Landeskog news, but I feel I have a Cup capable roster with enough assets to add at the deadline...particularly if Landeskog does a Kucherov... 24-25 might get hairy if he comes back.

A little late--but with the additional information provided from the u18, here are the picks I really like from each round:

1. 18th Leonard was terrific pick and WON'T be around that late in the real NHL draft;
32nd Wood followed up an amazing NCAA freshman season with more of the same

2. 33rd. Stenberg sure played like a top 20 pick.
41st. Willander another Swedish player who made a big case for the 1st round

3. 85th Pinelli--if you aren't at the u18, then torching the OHL playoffs is the best way to get noticed

4. 116th Pekarci (don't mean to self-promote) looks like a top 100 pick after u18
118th Fowler had a super USHL season and is better in the playoffs

5. 139th Erdman has stepped up in post season--being involved in 5 of team's 9 goals
160th Szturc his performance at u20 warrants at least 4th round pick

6. 161st. Clara a 6'6" goalie with stellar results is great value in the 6th
191st. Urban--the round was book-ended by goalies at a value spot in the draft

7th. 201st Milic is playing as well as any junior goalie right now

Thanks to everyone who participated. It was fun and informative.
