You could make the same point (although a bit cheaper) when a CIS team plays a NCAA team. I think a big part of it with Quebec teams is getting to France and experiencing the culture, etc. Not quite the same but SFU is playing 5 NCAA teams in their bid to join D1. They will get destroyed.

These trips have little to do with the hockey - although, there is something to be said for playing above your weight class in the preseason.
It's more about the experiences involved - being on the road together for 10 days, team building activities, cultural tours, etc. It can be a recruiting tool, as well. And, for those with pro aspirations after USports, it certainly doesn't hurt to expose your players to a group of coaches and front office folks from European pro teams.

Is their BCIHL team significantly weaker than its been ? This is going to be interesting to watch play out . I’ve never taken the “we want to go NCAA” thing seriously , especially with what’s happened to the football program but this is making me wonder.

I'll be watching closely when they play the NCAA teams. If the NCAA play their regular squad, I expect SFU to lose by 5 or more each game.

The SFU recruits this year are no screaming hell. Their roster has no major junior grads, maybe 5 or 6 each from the BCHL and AJHL, a sprinkling from the SJHL, MJHL, and US leagues, and a large amount from Junior B. They have 3 home games and 16 away games. I'd like to see their financial plan.

The Bisons made it official. The only minor discrepancy is the start time of the game at Regina on the 16th. They had it listed as 3:00 CST. They also are going to Thunder Bay over Christmas for the first time in a long time.

No CW exhibition games are scheduled for streaming at this time. In the past Lakehead offered a PPV service. That was before OUA TV. I await an announcement.
