I'm all for trying new things, but the point is that the NYR did try a new thing that worked. Seems to me that is something that should've been picked up on by coaching staffs around the league, not the NHL network.

I was fiddling with the search functionality and came across the below post from 2018 traverse cup. Appears Khovanov was ahead of his time…
Wild win 3-2 to finish 3rd. Wasn't paying a ton of attention but Belpedio was the only one who stood out to me as clearly being a potential player. highlight for me was watching Khovanov, a Lefty, take a faceoff with his hands setup as a righty in order to use his curve to draw it back. He lost the face off and clearly showed his entire plan on the draw but it was at least unique lol.
