RE: Cowan 5'11" 185 (he looks a tad smaller than that) Has he had an official measurement yet like at the combine?

You can have a maximum of one smallish player on a playoff/Stanley Cup caliber team.

Brayden Point 5'10" 178 lbs

Brad Marchand 5'9" 180

Theo Fleury 5'6" 180

I'm sure there are a lot more examples.

I'd only be worried about a smallish player if he was scared to play in the tough areas including playoff-type hockey.

Kucherov is listed as 5'11" 182. Tampa Bay also won the Cup with Yanni Gourde (5'9", 174) and Tyler Johnson (5'8", 185) playing every game in the playoffs.

5'11" is not small. I don't think Cowan is that height even though he is listed at 5'11'. He's more like 5'9". I forgot about Johnson and Gourde. Good call.

How do you add a quote in here? I clicked on the quote and it didn't appear.

Click reply for a single quote. The quote one is only if you want to quote multiple people in a single post.

Not at all worried. History has shown height and weight does not determine if a player is physical or is hard to play against. On the flip side, I could list off a ton of players who are giants and never through a hit in their lives.

And a couple of other names: Wendel Clark was 5'11" 195 for most of his career and one of the hardest hitters in the league.
Vladimir Konstantinov was one of the most vicious hitters in the NHL until the Limo accident and he was 5'10, 170. Nick Lidstrom used to say he wished he could have had some of Konstantinov's intensity on the ice.

I haven't been this excited for a prospect in a long time. I'm hoping the new coach isn't a dinosaur who believes that rookies need to pay their dues and play 3 mins a night.

This year? You serious??? I must have missed that. Absolute insanity.
100%. He wanted to trade Minten and the leafs 1st rounder too. He said earlier this year Marner is better than Pasta. He just said today on his pod that Bert and Domi were bad signings. The fact this fool is voting on major awards is criminal.
