He has a pest mentality. He's not afraid to get involved at all. Soft hands around the net, but doesn't have an elite shot or anything. Mainly, he's an effort player. He's actually a really good skater, and he plays a 200 foot game.

His upside is as a bottom 6, gritty player who's opportunistic, like a smaller Jesper Fast, or, he's Danick Martel. We'll see how he develops.

I had no clue about the 2022 draft prospects. I retired from scouting since 2019 (best year). I spotted a Habs jersey with the number 22 without a name. I spoked to him and he presented himself without taking it personally.

PS: hIs fRenCh iS oK ;)

We have a bunch of prospects that seem tailored for a hellish forechecking bottom 6: Guindon, Rohrer, Heineman, Beck, Mysak, RHP

Guindon had similar production to the much hyped Roar.

It's interesting that although Hughes said he wants to get bigger and faster, of the 10 skaters we took, we took 3 Forward prospects that are 5'10 and under (Mezar, Roar, Guidon) and 2 undersized dmen (Hutson and Tourigny). Then it was Slaf, two 6'2 dmen (Engstrom and Nurmi) and two 6'0 forwards (Beck and Davidson).

So it seems they're trying to get bigger but also looking for top talent.

Probably the Habs most underrated pick of the draft. Guy had an excellent rookie season in the OHL and has the compete level to improve every year.

There was an article in the Athletic recently where Guindon talked about how he didn't have a 16 year old season, and that not everyone adjusted right away to playing against older players last year in the rookie season. He said he felt he had an adjustment period and then took off. Also said he thinks his comparible is Paul Byron. Guindon looks like a good skater to meet in the clips, so maybe he has the foundation to maybe be that someday.

Not as fast as Byron, but better offensive awareness.

The kid is producing at a nice clip with 34 points in 24 games.
Another legit prospect?

No doubt, people are sleeping on him, kid is a very high IQ player, a good skater, puckhandler, puck distributor, plays a solid 2-way game and has high compete level, never takes a shift off and plays effective hockey all over the ice. His skills might not be elite level, but still very good and promising. I think we will be a lock for team Canada junior next year, he is exactly the type of player TC likes.

For those who thought Habs selected him only because he speaks french, I can assure you that its not the case, this kid is a mid round steal and a damn good hockey player.

Byron had very good offensive seasons in Gatineau.
We got Byron from waiver, his top speed has always been his bread and butter. Guindon isnt as fast as Byron, but a much smarter hockey player with better talent level and offensive awarenesses.

That has still to be seen.... on a NHL ice.

Alot of media members are complaining that the Habs dont select enough french players and when they do it, thats usually in the late rounds to shut people mouths. So it became a running joke on this board to guess who will be our usual suspect "Q" player selected late in the drafts. Im only pointing out that Guindon is pretty legit and didnt get drafted to please some francos, he is a second round worthy player.

Guindon's season with Owen Sound came to an end last night.
69 points in 68 regular season games
5 points in 4 playoff games
He's still only 18 (birthday later this month)
Does he get the call from Laval? Not sure if would get ice time but participating in practice and being around more established players could help his development
