Declines are understandable this year, but I am especially disappointed in Dahlin. He has not accepted an invite to the national team since he started playing in the NHL and even declined the year he was drafted (although he played in the Olympics that year). Doesn't seem like he is particularly interested in the national team
He declined because he has no contract. Literally only Swede without contracts I can think of that have accepted did so to play themselves into a contract.

He declined his draft year because he had played a full SHL season with playoffs, along with the WJCs+U20 tournaments, and Olympics+men's NT tournaments. Nevermind that players who go to Olympics very rarely double dip that year for the NT.

2019 I remember him wanting to play, but it sounded like Buffalo stepped in and declined for him(not uncommon when it comes to first year NHLers).

At least a line like Olofsson - A.Kempe - Bratt should be happy firstliners... and a real good defender to go along with these in PP and 5v5 could do much for the team. But OEL have "fullfilled" his duties on the national team before. Should be a hero if he accepts.

And Sörensen is not bad for a 12-13th guy and Isac Lundeström might be ideal for 15th forward! Hållander and Lundeström can tell each other war stories from Norrbotten on the bench there.

Also there could be a nice dynamic between players like Klingberg - Rasmussen - Kempe on the one hand and Hållander - Lundeström - Höglander on the other. Competition.

And management might might want to let the Hockey Games end first, which coincides with Los Angeles playing their 56th and final game (Adrian Kempe).

Who else of the "big names" haven't we heard from?

Primary targets:
Markström
OEL
Rasmus Andersson
Elias Lindholm
Nils Höglander
Victor Olofsson
Adrian Kempe
Jesper Bratt

I also think these would be interesting:
Andreas Johnsson
Tobias Björnfot or Gustav Lindström
Emil Bemström or Rasmus Asplund
One of Marcus Högberg, Anton Forsberg, Filip Gustafsson

These I don't think will come:
Hampus Lindholm (injured)
Jacob Silfverberg (almost never accepts)
Niklas Hjalmarsson (UFA, pondering retirement)
Linus Ullmark (UFA + injured)
Adam Boqvist (injured)
Alexander Nylander (injured)
Gustav Nyquist (injured)
Alexander Edler (UFA)
Elias Pettersson (injured)

These I'm not sure would be huge improvements, maybe 2 or 3 of these if we get declines from everyone else:
Jacob Larsson
Johan Larsson (good defensivly, so maybe, but meh)
Oliver Kylington
Gabriel Carlsson
Kevin Stenlund
Christian Djoos
Mathias Bromé
Carl Grundström
Erik Brännström
Robert Hägg
Fredrik Händemark
Loui Eriksson (please God, no!)

Already declined:
Rasmus Dahlin
Mikael Backlund
Mika Zibanejad
Oskar Lindblom
Erik Karlsson

I guess OEL & Märkström will join the team.

That would be huge;

Hugeness:

1. Elias Lindholm
2. Jakob Markström
3. Oliver Ekman Larsson
4. Adrian Kempe
5. Jesper Bratt
6. Victor Olofsson
7. Linus Ullmark

Only one of the first three keeps us away from B-gruppen next year.

I would say Victor Söderström is better than Björnfot and Lindström.

Out of Högberg, Forsberg and Gustafsson, i think Forsberg is the most intresting name, he got loads of experiance and have done good with Ottawa.

Brännström is heating up and been good lately, 12 points in 29 games in a terrible team. He should for sure get a invite.

You are forgetting Lias Andersson and Samuel Fagemo.

Ryfors signed with Tampa btw.

I dont think Tampa will bring him over right now, he could be a player for our WC team.

Gustavsson has by far the best numbers, was the highest pick, and is the youngest. Forsberg is 28 and blew every chance in the NHL he had everywhere he went. To me, the choice is super easy. Gustavsson can actually be Sweden's future #1, Forsberg is fighting to keep his career Sv% above .900

We lost 6-4 against Russia in EHT if anybody missed it. Last goal in emty net. Sloppy tired game from both teams.

Pilut, Dahlbeck and Lööv where impressing among D.

Among forwards Skellefteå line as usual was good so was Friberg - Lindberg - Lindholm.

Rakell - Lundeström - Sörensen
Fröden - Wingerli - Berggren
Klingberg - Rasmussen - M.Kempe
Friberg - Lindberg - Lindholm
Eklund

Pilut - Dahlbeck
Lööv - Lundkvist
Johansson - Bäckström
Sellgren

Reidenborn
Ersson

I would say right now, this is our lineup vs Denmark 22 may. Its same level on this team as Latvia, Germany, Switzerland, Slovakia.

Jonathan Dahlén...?

Yes, someone of Gustavsson, Alnefelt or Wallstedt breaking through is needed within the next few years..

B-gruppen? Hopefully you are not serious, or do you think that SHL team would be worse than Great Britain, Belarus, Denmark and Slovakia?
