Assuming this is the final ranking, I will post my top 25 Devils prospect rankings now. I'm still voting Schmid in this poll, but had him ranked at #11. As for other big discrepancies between my rankings and HFDevils, I have Bardakov at #14, he is going to go unranked. I have Salminen at #20, he went at #10. I have Zetterlund at #22, he got voted in at #15. Those are the major ones. There are other smaller discrepancies, but nothing crazy worth noting.

We have a real nice pool. I disagree with pretty much every single high draft selection we have used over the last two years sans Mercer, but we still have gotten some good players out of the draft. For reference, if we had went by my picks these past first rounds, we would have Jack Quinn (he's a funny case, I will always say that he would have been an absolute stud if he went to a team that knew how to develop players better if he doesn't work out), Dawson Mercer, Jacob Perreault, Brandt Clarke, and Francisco Pinelli. In my opinion, that's definitely a bit of an upgrade at every single draft slot, but these kids are still prospects and we have no idea how they will work out.

Either way, we have a lot to look forward to with our prospects. It is pretty crazy that even our 23rd ranked prospect has played some NHL games (admittedly with essentially an all AHL bottom 6). I would say up to about #20, each player has the potential to be an NHL player in some capacity. It's really damn impressive. We could have done a bit better overall in the past 2 years, but our prospect pool is still really, really great.

It really says something about the depth here that a guy who has already been “decent” enough to play 8 NHL games isn’t even voted in our top 20 prospects.

In honor of Sen Moynihan, here’s a blast from the Congressional 80’s, Tip O’Neill’s 3D House of Representatives, from Count Floyd’s Monster Chiller Horror Theater (warning: “really scary stuff”)

I think the Luke pick was the better pick but Clarke might be a little better overall player. Jack Quinn instead of who? Holtz? Again I then Holtz will be the better pick for our team. Pinelli is one I wish we took as well instead of Stillman. Muk still could be a very good pick but there weee some players I would have preferred over him. Whoever the Capitals took just after Muk is who I wanted. By in large I like our picks and it could have been worse.

Lapierre? He’s very good but not sure he’s any better a fit than Mukhamadullin would be.
