It's time for our annual Ducks prospect rankings. Each poll will run for 48 hours except in the case of a clear landslide. I will go to the top 25 and include a final poll where you can pick 5 honorable mentions. Please tell me who you want me to add in the replies. In the seventeenth poll, I am voting for Blake McLaughlin.

As always the list will define prospects as hockeysfuture does: NHL Prospect Criteria - Hockey's Future.

Tschigerl, he can become a Solid 3rd liner with PP and PK abilities, the kind of depth piece every team wants, similar to a Coleman, Appleton, or a Brassard.

Wow I can’t believe there are still a few decent players here.

I suspect Anderson and tschigirl are the most likely to outperform their ranking here

This should be Mahura but I still went Tschigirl

Yeah I'm not seeing much upside there anymore but there should be something said for having already reached the NHL. Law of averages suggests that the majority of guys remaining here won't come close.

Mahura has the floor of a depth Dman because he basically already is one, and there's a lot of uncertainty on the list.

After this pick should be Mahura, I think it really does open wide up after that, really could see voting for any number of guys. Outside of Guhle, who is a complete wildcard at best, there's no one left who has been on the NHL depth chart. All true prospects, mostly recent middle or late round picks, really just comes down to who you like more so than any obvious answers.

So again, I'm confused here.

I commented asking how McLaughlin was doing in his draft thread, and had only one response. Yet he has 5 votes? He appears to me like someone who has limited potential. If the Ducks saw something there, wouldn't he have been given a contract?

I have Andersson and Hinds in this area. We're good at developing defensemen. Hinds might make a huge jump next year if that offense continues to develop while maintaining his defense.

It's Mahura for me here.

Sure he's 23 but he's been improving every year and offensively he's very capable. I think down the road he can be a 3rd pair 2nd PP specialist. I liked that he added a physicality element last season. He was our best scoring D in the Gulls by a good margin. Only Drysdale would surpass him, would he played enough games.

I don’t know anything about Tshigerl or Hinds but I find it very weird if Tshigerl is picked higher on this list.

Like, you guys rave about our scouts all day every day. And then pick the dude who got picked lower before the dude who got picked higher 2 months later? Weird

One can greatly respect another’s opinion and hold it in high regard while simultaneously holding their own individual perspective based on their own individual knowledge and perceptions

That’s true. And they can also just easily over value their own ability to evaluate these players based on YouTube clips. I’m going to lean towards that one here personally

Yes, that’s where I watched the two play I have watched a shift by shift of each, seen a couple highlights, looked at some statistical projections and read a couple articles, by no means do I have the information at my disposal to match the Ducks scouting staff, but I just like Tschigerl a small bit more

That’s what I’ve been saying for a long time on this website. There’s posters on nearly every fan base that will cling on to these late-round prospects (who may never amount to anything) as if they will work out based on YouTube clips and highlights.

Can we add Limoges? Thinking of going with him soon.
I debated on how to handle both him and Printz. On the one hand I'm sure the organization thinks highly of them and I'm sure they both have the opportunity to earn ELCs if play determines it but on the other they're technically Gulls affiliated as they're on AHL deals. Ultimately decided to leave them off due to both that and my thinking that they wouldn't garner many votes anyways but if you guys feel they should be on there I will add them next poll.

That’s fair. I personally haven’t seen any of either. I will say though that there must have been some pretty intriguing talent seen in Hinds to trade a very likely higher 3rd round pick(in the upcoming draft) to get him with a mid to late 3rd rounder. Not something you do unless you see something there. And That’s not the end all be all for rankings but it does have me mildly excited about Hinds
