OUA schedule is up today. 20 games for each team. Late start (first week of Nov) and late finish (end of Feb). The conferance has gone back to 4 divisions for this year:

Far East: UQTR, Concordia, McGill, Carleton, Ottawa
East: Ontario Tech, Queen's, RMC, Nipissing (Laurentian has discontinued its program)
West: Toronto, York, Ryerson, Lakehead, Brock
Far West: Guelph, Laurier, Waterloo, Western, Windsor

Looks like play is limited to divisional rivals.

Configuration is different from what was in place when they used this structure several years ago, in part because of some new teams. At least this time the three Toronto teams are in the same division. One noteworthy change from the last time they used this structure is that Lakehead has moved from the Far West to the West...this will mean less travel since all of their road games will be in Toronto except for one trip to St. Catharines for a 3-game set with Brock.

Many of the games are home/away back-to-backs. Lakehead is always different because of travel and their schedule this year is really quirky - they have no road games before Christmas (including 3 home games in 3 nights against both Ryerson and York), and then all but two games after Christmas are on the road.

Is there any place which says how playoffs work? The press release doesn't say: OUA announces hockey schedules for 2021-22 season

Can't see anything on the OUA website. The schools with schedules posted so far are Waterloo and Western and there is no indication on either about the playoffs. Not sure if the date of the Nationals has been communicated, but the regular season in the OUA is ending 3 weeks later than is typical.

University Cup is scheduled March 17-20…so same time as usual.

I thought the playoffs were going to be single elimination this year?

OUA East has RMC/Queens facing off 8 times against each other. Nipissing and Ontario Tech will also play 8 times.

I really like League Stat, used by CW and OUA for a while now. Some of the stats (like TOI) is not published there. I would like to see a nationwide system in play. The usports site is bad.

Is this InStat information going to be available to the public? That article made it seem (to me at least) it was something just the teams and leagues would have access to.

If they play doubleheaders, that's 10 series. They have but 3 opponents, which means one opponent needs a 4th series.

Sorry, didn’t realize the schedule featured only division games this year. That Far East division with McGill/Carleton/Ottawa/UQTR/Concordia is going to be a bloodbath…while Queens seems like the big winner with this set-up.

The OUA East has last year's 6th, 7th, 8th, and 9th place teams. In the absence of interlocking games, this year's OHT35 has a challenge waiting.

Just saw this…wonder if the AUS/CW use it, or something similar, as well?

OUA announces partnership with InStat Hockey for 2021-22 season

Interesting, but only as good as the staff/volunteer who enters the data into the terminal. Most teams have someone, but the old system was not as 'intense' with simple tracking of shots/POI for goals and face-off winners. InStat has a few more items to capture.

I found this comment interesting "..., and emailed web links all corresponding to data-specific video".

INSTAT REPORTS - InStat

I don't believe InStat is done at the rink live during the game. Video is used and the game is broken down by what is described as a team of 4 to 6 people with the reports delivered to teams one day after the game

Ok - so teams will still do their own in-game video analysis (at least UNB does this) and then get more in-depth analysis videos later. So you have to have video of the game, which in some cases, is a bit spotty.

It may not be expensive, but it's certainly not cheap. With a wide variety of video angles in USPSORTS, it's going to interesting to hear the feedback on whether it has value.

Paying 4 to 6 people for each game is a lot of labour. 200 hours per night in the OUA.
