A few interesting tidbits to take away from this lineup & game.

1. Jarventie is on the top line with Agozzino he was a late cut with Ottawa & Sokolov who most consider one of their best prospects in Belleville.

2. Daoust on the 2nd line when some of us thought he would be returning to junior. Not sure what that means, that we either under rated him or that the team isn't very good & need his offence. Time will tell.

3. The only reason Sogaard is playing is because Gus is in Ottawa. I expect that he will be sent to the ECHL to get lots of reps once Gus is returned & Murray is healthy. IMO the extra reps in a league that takes a lot of shots should be very good for him as it was for Daccord.

4. The defence in general is a little alarming although Thomson on the 1st pairing is interesting, he had a good training camp IMO. Brannstrom on the 2nd pairing & JBD on the 3rd pairing is also interesting, I expect JBD to improve & develop throughout the yr. Guennette as a healthy scratch I guess should be expected, hopefully he will eventually replace Williams.

It shouldn’t be shocking to anyone that Lassi is ahead of JBD … his play was never as bad as some made it out and he’s in his second. Season of AHL hockey.

Hard to imagine how we'd manage our goaltending log jam with Daccord still here. Unless Murray is out long term and Forsberg goes down too.

The biggest roster change for the Senators will be in goal, with Filip Gustavsson being returned from Ottawa and Mads Sogaard out with a minor injury. Head Coach Troy Mann says they’re taking a cautious approach with Sogaard this early in the season. Gustavsson will to start tonight, with Kevin Mandolese potentially getting the call on Saturday. Also not dressed for the Senators tonight are Zac Leslie, Kameron Kielly, Rourke Chartier, Maxence Guenette, Colt Conrad and Mitchell Hoelscher. Cedric Pare will make his Belleville Sens debut tonight, while Matt Murphy was released from his professional try out this morning.
