With the 2019 draft and development camp done and finished, what do you think the Caps prospect rankings should be this year? Part of an ongoing series.

Admittedly, I'm not familiar with a lot of them, so it'll be interesting to read what you guys think.

I took this initial list from another site, so feel free to request an add of another prospect!

The requirement is U25, and less than 25 NHL games played.

Note: I'll start the next prospect ranking thread the next day if the polling isn't close. If two or more prospects are within 10 votes of each other, I'll leave that thread out for the additional day.

Is this too early for Kannok-Leipert? Seemed to be Byram's partner last year, helped take Vancouver to WHL finals where they lost to Leason and Protas.

Pilon for me. He had a really solid year transitioning from the WHL. I think he could easily get a shot if he really progresses production wise, and I think he will. I'm not sure what his ceiling really is, but I like his game and his tools are improving every year. Good forward to have in your system IMO.

I really struggle to put Lewington or O'Brien as true prospects. At this point they're just tweener professional players. 24 really should be the cutoff IMO.

Well technically I should cut O'Brien off because he just turned 25 like 3 or 4 days ago lol

But I felt bad doing that to the kid.

Out of the two, Lewington has the better shot to stick on an NHL team for a full season. Liam unfortunately is an AHL guy and will be in Europe when he reaches UFA status

What the hell happened to Connor Hobbs? It was sounding like he was one of the top contenders for a 6-7 d spot at this time last year
Just hasn’t put together a consistent string of games in Hershey. As soon as the Bears brought in Sproul, Hobbs and Colby Williams shared playing time.

He’s a big bodied, physical player but his skating definitely needs work and he needs to use the offensive skills shown in junior on a nightly basis. He’s also not the greatest PP QB from what I’ve witnessed. This will be a huge year for him career wise.
