Are people really picking the Indians over the Twins? Recency bias in full effect.

Wow, the Rangers a wild card? Gutsy call there. Their lineup could be ok, if Beltre stays healthy and Odor gets his batting average back up above .215 or wherever he finished last year.

But the pitching is awful. Hamels ok good but after that they've got a pretty motley bunch. When Doug Fister is your 3rd starter, you've got problems.

Maybe it will come together but in a division with Houston and an improved Angels I think it will be really hard for them to make the postseason.

the twins got lucky last year. they will most likely regress this season

Theyre pretty much a lock for at least 2nd in that division but I dont see how anyone can think theyre better than Cleveland. Cleveland has the better hitting and pitching by quite a bit.

Cleveland’s pitching is the best in the AL but the Twins have a better offense.

Yankees are the Leafs of baseball.

Nobody's the Leafs of baseball. The Nationals are the ultimate proof of that. They've had arguably World Series-winning caliber talent for the last six years, had a loaded lineup, stacked pitching, loads of good prospects coming up...and they have zero playoff series wins to show for it.

Just being stacked doesn't guarantee anything, other than being competitive or being able to win a weak division I suppose.

That being said, I don't see Minnesota as one of those loaded teams with the potential yet of the likes of New York, Houston, etc. Not yet anyway.

Not even close. The Yanks are loaded.

I don't know anything about hockey, I thought "the Leafs of baseball" meant a team stacked with young talent? I figured that was the Yankees, plus they both have insufferable fanbases, so it worked on that level too.

Stacked with talent would be more Twins like. The Yankees aren’t young.

Yes they are. Their best players are 28, 26,25, and 24. They're going to add two top 50 prospects to the roster by mid season and only Gardner, Walker, CC, Dellin, and Robertson are over 30.

I mean Jose Ramirez was top 3 in MVP voting last year so I kind of feel like he's maybe pretty good too...

Also while he's getting to the age where you have to worry about some drop off, I'd probably take Edwin over any member of the Twins in terms of just offensive output in 2018.

For sure. And I don't think anyone would be that surprised if Alonso puts up a better year than Mauer. He was certainly better last year.
