I would probably dig those jerseys if they were the Sabres WC jerseys or even just an interesting alternate jersey.

Doesn't make much sense for team USA

If Canada wants to guarantee a win all they need to do is wear this for the game:

USA Hockey will stage the 2017 World Junior Summer Showcase at USA Hockey Arena in the Detroit suburb of Plymouth from July 29 - August 5. The event features players from four nations - the United States, Canada, Finland and Sweden - auditioning for a spot to represent their country in the 2018 International Ice Hockey Federation World Junior Championship, which will take place December 26, 2017 - January 5, 2018, in Buffalo, New York.

The United States, which enters the 2018 tournament having medaled in back-to-back IIHF World Junior Championships for the second time ever (2010 - Gold - 2011 - Bronze), aims to claim a third-straight medal in tournament play for the first time in USA Hockey history.

USA Hockey also unveiled today the 42 players it has invited to take part in the World Junior Summer Showcase, a group that includes seven returnees from last year's gold medal-winning United States National Junior Team and 26 players who have won medals at IIHF events.

"This event is the first step in our process towards identifying a team for the 2018 IIHF World Junior Championship in Buffalo," said Jim Johannson, assistant executive director of hockey operations for USA Hockey and general manager of the 2018 United States National Junior Team. "We're excited to be returning to USA Hockey Arena and hosting Canada, Finland and Sweden for a great week of hockey that will give fans a taste of what is to come this December."

Pu Invited To Hockey Canada's Junior Development Camp - Brayton Wilson - WGR550.com - June 20, 2017 - 5:46 pm ET.

Cliff Pu will be the only current Buffalo Sabres prospect to represent the organization in Hockey Canada's national junior team development this summer.
Buffalo's third round pick (69th overall) was one of 42 prospects to be invited to Canada's junior development camp.
Pu finished this past season as the Ontario Hockey League's eighth top scorer with 35 goals and 86 points in 63 games this season with the London Knights.
This will be the first best chance for Pu to showcase his skills for a chance to play at the 2018 IIHF World Junior Championship in Buffalo this December.

Canada will hold another selection camp just weeks before the World Juniors to cut the roster down to the final 23 players eligible for the tournament.
The 2017 junior development camp features 14 prospects eligible for the 2017 NHL Draft this Friday, while the rest of the prospects are draft picks from the 2016 NHL Draft.
Hockey Canada will hold their junior development camp this summer from July 31 through August 6.
USA Hockey also released their invites for their World Juniors summer camp, but the Sabres will not be represented there.

@SabresProspects -

As of now, reasonable to think the Sabres will have four prospects (Mittelstadt, Pu, Luukkonen, Davidsson) in Buffalo this winter at the WJC.

Luukkonen has two years of WJC eligibility ahead of him. Davidsson is a late '98 so this year's tourney is his last crack.

Like Borgen last year, Asplund turns 20 in December and is therefore ineligible.

Nylander - He is eligible. Like last summer, Sweden left him off summer roster. Need to see where he's at come December.

Call me crazy but I think Hagel should get some attention from Canada WJC scouts. Could play a pesky role like Della Rovere years ago.

Last weekend, Finland announced their roster for this summer showcase and to noones surprise one of the four goalies named was recent drafted Sabres prospect - Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen.

No official word yet on the Sweden roster - hopefully both Davidsson and Weissbach are named.
