I had some fun looking at the draft orders of those 2 years and the best players available for those 2 countries.

Who would win ?

SWEDEN:

Eriksson/Hoglander - Lundestrom - Holmstrom
Dahlin - Boqvist
Lindbom

FINLAND:

Kakko - Kotkaniemi - Kupari
Heinola - Thomson
Lehtinen

Very close, I'd give Sweden the edge because that defensive line is incredible.

If you add in next year's draft it wouldn't be close, with Raymond, Holtz, Gunler, and Nybeck.

Is Hog better than Eriksson tho ? They both have really similar stats, but Eriksson is the bigger body
I am really high on Hog, I think his skating and puck skills are at a very very high level while Eriksson is lacking a bit in both. You are right though, the big body may be more effective in the NHL, especially if he can clean up his stride.

Me personally would put players like Albin Eriksson & Pontus Holmbergi n this team before players like Grewe, Karlberg, Westfalt & Holmstrom.

It would be team sweden because of the better defence. When you take all factors in you realise finns have the better forwards easily but then sweden has such high end defenders that you cant not choose them. If Finland had better D then it would be Finland.

If it was Finland v Sweden as a TEAM then i'd take Finland very easily when you messure the success to Swedens success in Junior world championships.

Finland has the best first line as laid down in the OP. The Finnish Ds are quite good themselves while the Swedish F are nonexistent.

Definitely, but I could have went in 2017 and put Heiskanen - Jokiharju too
