It's never too early to start talking about those in the Oilers system toiling away in the CHL, NCAA, Europe and other leagues. I'll be doing my best to stay ahead of those in the OHL, QMJHL and WHL (if we have any players drafted, signed or traded for there this season).

Feel free to add your insights, as I'm only following through the computer, and others will have better and more first hand knowledge of those trying to make the Oilers.

Safin is someone I'm curious about. Seems like a player with the tools, it's just up to him how good he wants to be. I wonder how well he does in year 2 of the QMJHL.

If he's able to get bigger and stronger this offseason he should be a beast at the CHL level.

If you find yourself unfamiliar with other team's prospects as compared to the Oilers', here's a list of all players in NHL systems, 2014 draft eligible or younger. Heights and weights for many players may not be updated yet, and the teams are generally just a best guess to where they'll play next season.

Haven't seen Lagesson at all since the World juniors a few years back, but he looked great in that tournament as a 19 year old. I'd love it if Kemp made it this year for something to compare it to at the same age. With that said, general reports surrounding Lagesson are that he's developed well in the SHL the past season and was playing top pairing minutes and thriving in that role so I'd have to think he's the easy pick right now. Definitely a player I'm excited to get a look at in training camp this year.

Who's the better prospect in your guy's mind, Kemp or Lagesson?

Lagesson by a fair margin to me. Although I havent seen much of either. Basing it on the fact Lagesson is playing big minutes in the SEL and played on important role in the WJC

Baseless summer speculation: Bouchard with Joseph, looks to probably be the most experience pairing, Hockey Canada's gonna lean on Bouchard.

Frost - Suzuki stands out to me. Wonder if Thomas' absence brought them together or if Thomas was situated elsewhere (Comtois - Glass - Thomas?)

A couple of things stand out to me. #1 he's playing LD which might not be his natural side given his handedness. #2 he was able to at least disrupt the shot with his stick.
