Texier has a legit chance, but it's really tough to say. He did really well in both game vs Latvia, though he's not a great defender. But he created a lot.

At this point, the sure picks are, IMO (probably won't be the final lines)

Bellemare - S. Da Costa - Roussel
S. Treille - Meunier - Fleury
Claireaux - T. Da Costa - Y. Treille

So I'll say 4 to 5 spots are wide open.
Perret is pretty useful everywhere and was excellent last year.
Rech was ligue Magnus player of the year.
Ritz did very well in camp.
Lampérier was there last season but didn't play a lot.
Douay has a good OQT.
Texier has the most upside.
Valier had a good camp but I don't see him make it.
Bouvet is a long shot.

At this point, I'll say Texier has to steal a spot from a more experienced player. Lampérier could be in danger. Douay must show more.

2 more games next week vs Belarus to know who will be cut.

The roster for the next 2 games was released.
GARDIENS : 3
Florian HARDY (Dornbirn, AUT),
Cristobal HUET (Lausanne, SUI),
Ronan QUEMENER (Aalborg, DEN)

DÉFENSEURS : 8
Nicolas BESCH (Bordeaux),
Florian CHAKIACHVILI (Rouen),
Olivier DAME MALKA (Rouen),
Kévin HECQUEFEUILLE (La Chaux-de-Fonds, SUI),
Jonathan JANIL (Bordeaux),
Antonin MANAVIAN (Fehervar, HUN),
Damien RAUX (Rouen),
Teddy TRABICHET (Grenoble)

ATTAQUANTS : 14
Pierre-Edouard BELLEMARE (Philadelphie, USA),
Valentin CLAIREAUX (Rauma, FIN),
Stéphane DA COSTA (Moscou, RUS),
Teddy DA COSTA (Znojmo, CZE),
Floran DOUAY (Genève, SUI),
Damien FLEURY (Kunlun, CHN),
Loïc LAMPERIER (Rouen),
Laurent MEUNIER (La Chaux-de-Fonds, SUI),
Jordann PERRET (Rouen),
Anthony RECH (Gap),
Nicolas RITZ (Herning, DEN),
Antoine ROUSSEL (Dallas, USA),
Alexandre TEXIER (Grenoble),
Sacha TREILLE (Rouen)

Out are Valier and Bouvet, as expected.
In are Bellemare and Roussel, of course.
no Yorick Treille, that's a surprise. Is he cut of just resting ?

25 players now.
And waiting for Auvitu.

The maximum number of players allowed on a Team Registration Form at the beginning of the World Championship is 22 skaters and 3 goalies. The minimum is 15 skaters and 2 goalies.

So here we are. If they keep a spot for Auvitu, it means only 1 cut remaining. Or 2 if Treille is resting.

Belarus is a tough team, we still compete hard against them
I'm not sure it was the best choice for the last two games before the Championships

Really excited about team France, seems like a really good team with that darkhorse potential. Tbh I'm little scared about the game between finland and france, could be a close one.
Huet will be your nro1 goalie right? And is there any idea about the line-ups?

You are so lucky to have your complete team. Switzerland has so much players missing. Is France the only team without really important players missing?

Great team with huge fighting spirit.
We can reach the quarter finals but we can also struggle for relegation.
Every game will be a big battle :)

Chakiachvili was France best d-man during the Olympic qualification tournament. He's going to be top-4 IMO. Janil, Dame-Malka and Raux will rotate as 7th and 8th. Raux can also play center.

Forward, probably a toss-up between Ritz and Lampérier. Bouvet probably won't play, he's a late call-up due to Texier injury.

Don't know if he would had quality time but it would have been nice to see that Texier kid! Lot of talking around him in Finland, depending draft position, his name is rumored in SM Liiga.

He was injured 1 week before the tournament but was slotted as our number 2 center :(

Liiga would be great for him. He'll learn skating, defense and physical training :)

surprisingly frenchs seems to adapt very well in Finland, Charles Bertrand is much loved in Finland, why he's not with team France btw? Claireaux and if I'm correct Ritz had good shots in SM or Mestiis. Lamperier is looking good dunno his contract situation.

Bertrand style of play doesn't fit well in this coach system. He was there several years and didn't produce, I think coach Henderson and Bertrand are not fond of each other.

Claireaux progressed really well this season and has a good tournament.

Lampérier is still in Rouen and will be a key player for them. Had a good game today, but overall, he lacks some bite in his game and is nearly always the 13th forward for the NT since several years now. Just can't grab a regular spot.

So France won't make it to the quarterfinals at home. So sad :(

Tomorrow, the last game will also be the last for Cristobal Huet and Laurent Meunier. Both played for the NT during the last 15-20 years. Great role model, they were there when France played D1A in Qiqihar, China, 2007.

Now, France is in elite groupe for the last 10 years. Youngsters are coming up. End of an era, now we have to build on this legacy to reach the quarter regularly.

France will probably finish 9th in the final ranking.
What a performance :handclap:

So frustrating to miss a quarterfinal spot for 1 point :(

I'm sure with the crowd in Paris they would have made a big game in the next round whatever the opponent
