So the Penguins iced a defense that was arguably worse than the Canes 06 one, and still won the Cup.

Don't worry, I'm sure whenever somebody brings up that "worst defense to ever win a Cup" we'll still be #1 with a bullet in the hearts and minds of the idiot brigade.

Too bad we couldn't see a team win their first stanley cup

I'll agree and it would have been even sweeter given it's another Sunbelt team that got crapped on - a lot - by the media. I went into this happy with whomever would win. I'm happy the Pens won but I hope like hell the Preds get there again soon.

Fun bit of trivia I saw on Twitter last night: This is the first time a team has won the Cup without a single defenseman who has gained a Norris trophy vote in their career.

But what about the 2006 Hurricanes, you ask? Oleg Tverdovsky received 9 votes for the Norris in 1997. He played in 1 game for the Canes in the Finals.

Lol at various "Congrats for Ronster!" threads. At least Winnipeg board has one.

Wesley never got a vote from DeCock or Chip? Those schmucks voted for Sutter for Selke at least once like the ******** they are.

Hainsey has plenty of time left to rack up Norris votes.

Bleh, my family is from Pittsburgh and this just makes me hate Sid and Flower Boy even more.

Why even have playoffs anymore? Have a lottery and give the Cup to either Pens, Hawks, or Kings. Parity in the NHL is d-e-a-d -- we've become the boring ass NBA.

One more reason to not follow hockey next year.

You mad dude....:sarcasm:

While I hate the Pens as much as the next guy and there's no doubt that Sid gets the calls, that teams pretty tight and they were the best team overall. The reality is with teams like Nashville and Ottawa making their deep runs, the "parity is dead" narrative just isn't supported by the facts.

LOL okey, some Pens fans must be high or something

There's one thead complaining that they didn't show a shot of the crowd at PPG Paints Arena during game six.

On one hand I get it, and they'll usually show the party for a couple of moments.

But on the other hand, your team just won the cup twice in a row. Whining about the coverage on NBC would be the last thing on my mind. And it's Pittsburgh, a team that's already their top dog (for good reason).

Talk about sore winners.

I've come to a decision. When I get a Pens Stadium Series jersey, I'll have it customized as a Hainsey jersey and when I get a Pens away, I'll have it customized as a Cullen jersey. Only a fitting way to honor my divided loyalties.

I mean they did just win back to back cups, so they probably are on a high right now.
By high I meant something stronger this time, GMJR is a fine GM, but not the best ever for sure.

And SBA - that is just silly, they won a cup being away- they showed how players celebrated, I think it is good enough. Why Pens fans are even complaining when they won again- let us be in playoffs and we will be happy about that!
