The talk of the Packers going to the Super Bowl if they got into the playoffs was amusing while it lasted.

Agreed, seemed like typical Packer arrogance more than anything else, that a still-banged up Rodgers would make the difference on a team with many flaws and many teams to pass ahead of them. Listening to Buck and Aikman moan and groan though was amusing as always as they realized they wouldn't be able to slobber all over Rodgers in the playoffs.

2nd worst 4-3 OLB according to PFF (via Rotoworld)

I like what PFF does in terms of grading each individual play, but their grades lack insight into schemes and team dynamics. Klein is the guy who gets everybody lined up correctly and calls out changes to the defense pre-snap, and he's very good at that. So despite being athletically limited, he has a positive impact by telling the Craig Robertsons and Kenny Vacarros of the world where they need to be.

The Saints have fallen from 5th to 11th in total defense since he got hurt the first time, so.....

never mind that now we're having to play Manti Te'o on an every-snap basis, or probably moving Kikaha from DE back to SLB and neither of those guys are any good in coverage.

So yes, it's a big loss.

For those unaware, there's been a bit of a media spat between Wagner and Thomas after the latter stated that Wagner should've taken himself out earlier against the Rams.

Wagner responded with a tweet (now deleted) that Thomas should keep his mouth shut.

Such as the Hawks season that started with so much promise going down the crapper.

Don't get millennials today. Instead of talking to each other face to face, they do so over social media.

As for Seattle, this wake up call might be what the doctor ordered to finally get the Hawk's front office to make some changes to their offensive coaching staff. Seen the D guys get tabbed for HC and OC jobs in Bradley, Quinn, Norton Jr. Look at what McVay has done for the Rams and Goff and what Shanahan can do with Jimmy G. Time for the Hawks to put Bevell and Cable out and recruit a new OC and OL coach.

This season, the OL that were still on rookie deals were: Britt (2nd round pick) in year 4, Glowinski (4th round pick) in year 3. Ifedi (1st rounder) and Obiyambo (3rd rounder) in year 2. Pocic (2nd rounder) in year 1. Have to be able to coach them up. And Bevell, his offence takes too long to get things going. They average 3.5 points in Q1 this season. 1 point average in 7 road games. 6 points average in 7 home games.

Right away blame it on the fact they're millennials. :eyeroll:

It's not because they're millennials. It's because that whole defensive unit has individual egos the size of the state they play in. Said egos would be in danger if they actually attempted to deal with it face to face, so to social media they go to air their dirty laundry.

Seattle has nothing to worry about. If the legion of boom's demise is upon us, they're still probably at minimum a playoff team because of Wilson.

Good timing for the Rams and 49ers though.

What is a millenial? In terms of its textbook definition, a millenial could be as old as 36 or as young as 16. That's a pretty huge range. That's about as dumb as saying that everybody my age and 20 years younger than me grew up wearing flannels and Doc Martins and listening to Nirvana on a loop. Just call them ******bags or whatever.

and BTW baby boomers, people my parents' age, are some of the worst people on social media. The internet brings out the worst in people. It has nothing to do with what year you're born in and everything to do with what kind of person you are in real life when you have the luxury of relative safety at home, "behind your keyboard," or whatever the current equivalent of being "behind your keyboard" is.

Report: Pats strip Brady's trainer of privileges

The New England Patriots have stripped Tom Brady's trainer of various team privileges, widening speculation of a rift between the trainer and head coach Bill Belichick, according to a report in the Boston Globe.

The trainer, Alex Guerrero, is a close friend of Brady's as well as a business partner who helped launch the TB12 Center, where Brady and several other Patriots players have trained and received treatment since its start in 2013.

According to the Globe report, Guerrero, who has his own office near the Pats' locker room in Gillette Stadium, is no longer permitted to treat players other than Brady in the office. He also is reportedly banned from boarding Patriots jets and has had his sideline access revoked.

Bevell has done a good job. Your beef should be with Cable (who has way too much pull) and John Schneider.

I don't really understand the hate for Bevell to be honest

He has done well both Min and Sea but seems to get none of the credit but is given all the blame.

Honestly having trouble not seeing the seeds shake out similarly to this.

Also, I'm obviously a homer, but I do this this outcome is a realistic possibility.

Nobody has claimed that Kizer has looked good but

This is not how you treat a rookie. And now Duke Johnson is saying his confidence is shot. Well, no shit.

That snafu with Kizer alone should make teams think realllllly hard if they want to bring Hue in on any capacity.

I said it in another thread, the kid was unlikely to be a great NFL QB anyways, but he still got royally ****ed over by Hue.

Didn't Kizer get injured in two of those games?

And in a couple he was absolutely dreadful and needed to get pulled or else he was going to end up just like that rookie in Buffalo

Rookie or not you cant leave him in game when its clear everything is going wrong with him like his game vs Titans

Also he seems to be a complete disaster vs Ravens D this year when they have met

Some of Kizer coming out was injury (he missed about a quarter with a migraine in an early game), but I don’t think the other times he was yanked is something to worry about.

Kizer wasn’t drafted as the franchise QB. He was drafted as a higher ceiling project. He only began the season as starter when plans A (Kessler) and B (Osweiller) failed. He was pulled because he was single-handedly losing games with his terrible turnovers. Kizer was so bad at times Hue tried giving both of his other QBs a shot, and both Kessler and Hogan were no better.

Kizer’s confidence may be shot, but that’s not on Hue. Kizer’s confidence is shot from having to watch his own terrible play in film review after games.

It's definitely on Hue. In part, at least. If he's not ready, he's not ready, but you can't keep throwing him out there and yanking him every week. That's a great way to develop a scared passer.

I don't think the Thomas/Wagner stuff is really a big deal but it sounds like there could be big changes coming in Seattle. Michael Silver says Sherman, Chancellor, and Avril are all likely gone in the offseason. With Thomas and Bennett it just sounds like pure speculation but he says those two aren't guaranteed to be back either.

Sean McVay guides focused L.A. Rams to cusp of division title

Maybe not a huge surprise since they're all in their 30's now and the team probably needs to retool but it'll still be strange to see a bunch of those guys playing elsewhere.

Well, Hue didn't want him. I can't speak to Hue's professionalism, but a good way to look like you were right is to make someone else look bad.

Hue also had Andy Dalton start in his rookie year as a 2nd round pick, and I didn't think other than the team situation, which is a significant consideration as ultimately they should've stuck with Osweiler even if they had to pay him. But if he did it once, who is to say he couldn't do it again. The team couldn't honestly think they would be the worst team in the league again, and a few of these losses have been largely on quarterback play, it's not like the Browns are getting run off the field in most of these losses
