Since he has been in the bullpen full time, he has been very good and consistent. He had one poor year in the pen and his walks were elevated that year as well.

It's a risk-free move. Storen was gone and they were going to eat his contract. Might as well get a guy with a solid track record and see what happens.

Until this season, he has been a very good pen arm for a number of years.

Benoit is 39 and is having a down year after being a damn good reliever the previous half decade. Hopefully he has something left for the playoff run. Pretty good return for the train wreck that is Storen.

EE was the DH.

They pinch hit Upton for Smoak (1B).

EE came in the next inning to play first.

When the DH comes in to play in the field, you lose the DH and the pitcher must bat in that spot. Meaning Upton had to leave the game and be replaced by the next pitcher.

Edit to add: Think of it this way. The 1B position beside Smoak shifted to EE, eliminating the DH from the line up. From that point on the Smoak/Upton spot in the lineup was the pitcher.

2 girls (maybe 20-25?) sitting down and texting away during the playing of both national anthems.

4 seats over and not related as far as I can tell... Another twosome who were slightly younger doing the same thing.
